Give Jenson his BGP001!!

Mercedes refused to give Jenson one of the six BGP001 chassis? Why would they want to keep all six and refuse him any of them? Techncially I assume Mercedes only inherited the cars when it brought out Brawn?!

I know Macca never give out the trophys and drivers only ever give replicas but what a joke!!! Shame on you brawn!

I don't see the point in discussing this actually. It is not a right of a driver to demand a car, as it is not even his property. Jenson only drove it round the track because the team signed him up to do so.

The contract is now finished, so it's up to the goodwill of the people involved if he'll get one or not. I fail to see how a court could possibly interfere with that.

I say, put it in a museum, that way fans can inspect it sooner or later as well.

Word, the sucka got paid didnt he? Buy it if you want it Jenson. He was lucky to get a car that was beyond what his skills deserved and was gifted the WDC... quit while you are ahead. In actuality the car was the star... the BGP001 should own Jenson.

Something along the lines of, "you will recieve a car (chassis) blah of which has been driven"

If its in the contract, give the guy his car.

i cant see the issue? Why would Brawn want to keep it? It was as much JB's win as it was Brawns. Neither guy has a right over the car, except it was in the contract that in the event of a championship win, Jense would keep the car.

It was written so should be accepted.

I know a person that take part in the Ferrari F1 clienti program. They buy an F1 car and they are only allowed to use it and keep ti in Maranello. I think the car has to have at least 10 years old to let them take it away.

True, but a contract is bound by law and the car was a perk. Brawn had nowhere to stand. Button was hired to win races for a lot of money. Not his fault the car was a donkey.

Brawn surely had an interest not to let competitors see a relatively recent car. Would they have a reason to believe Jenson would pass it on to McLaren for analysis? Would they have an interest to prevent this as long as possible?

The way Jenson jumped ship to McLaren wasn't amicable I understand. So is it a big surprise that the team made it as difficult as possible for him to give their secrets away? I don't think so.
