I am disgusted and furious that the Italian press have given that criminal Briatorre the space to comment.
He is a disgrace to the Italian people and makes that country appear shallow in the eyes of other nations, his opinion will never be valied again in F1 or any other sporting activity.
I hope that if he regains any position in the paddock others will join me in boycoting F1 until he is thrown out for good.

daijiro - Get your facts right. The FIA are based in Paris and their president is a Frenchman who used to be principal of Ferrari, and he brought Michael Schumacher to the FIA as special advisor.

Otherwise you are correct, its the mentality of ultra competitive people to find external reasons for failure. They have such self belief that they sometimes believe they can do no wrong. Success is purely due to their skill, and luck does not exist. This means that bad luck can't exist, so they have to find someone to be responsible for bad things.

You are so right Ricahrd - that's a competitive individual talking. Most of us here just wouldn't be so blind - but we are (mostly) rounded people who understand that things go wrong from time to time and have learned to live with it.

One part of me wants to say that FA is a whinger of the highest order who just needs to get his head together.

The other part of me recognises that this part of his make-up goes some way to making the furious and relentless competitor that he is - and when FA has his head down in a race I find it thrilling to watch. After all do we want our racing drivers to be good losers?

Does it matter? Ferrari decided to backtrack on the lunacy of Alonso's statement because they are factually incorrect. They work with the SWG to sort out the mess and we can close the issue.

only reason Alonso is apologizing is coz he and Ferrari might face action from FIA for their stupid comments!

Believe me Richard Lees I know Alonso very well since he was racing in Karting and in 1999 he won the Euro Open Series by Nissan in Valencia doing an overtake under yellow flags.Adrian Campos owner of the team was not believing what Alonso was doing ending the fight for the chamionship with that attitude.Surprisingly Nobody wanted to see anything about the overtake and Alonso was the champion.He is always blaming everybody about the problems he has to stop drivers faster than him.This year has no one to blame of his lack of results because he was talking to the spanish press the last 2 years yhat when he finally arrives at Ferrari he will be winning race after race.Obviously this was not true and the crtics over Alonso in the Spanish media are beggining to appear.Bad mood anyway here against him and about the way he justified the spanish hooligans throwing bottles to the track.......
