Why then were the teams so happy to see the underside of the Red Bull this past weekend?
You can speculate, but in the end there is no substitute for the real deal right?
More could have been done.

Doubt the pictures were good enough to actually see anything worth looking at!

Does anyone know if Mercedez-Benz world in Brooklands have a BGP-01 chassis on display yet?

They have Mika Hakkinen's championship winning McLaren and Lewis Hamilton's 2008 car on display there.
The answer to the ultimate question, of life, the Universe and ... Everything?

I can not believe for one minute that McLaren would let two WDC winning chassis goes to Mercedes. Maybe one of the many chassis, but I imagine the one where the WDC was official won is tucked up in Woking. McLaren would not even let drivers keep their trophy, doubt they would let Mercedes keep a chassis!

And i can tell you the Chassis Number at Goodwood BGP001-02 AKA Jensons Brawn GP that lasted him the entire 2009 season.

It now has been driven by Jenson himself, Rubens in the last test last year as a shakedown, Anthony Davidson in a couple straight line tests, Michael Schumacher, Nico Rosberg and Nick Heidfeld in demostration events like Goodwood.

He wore the same pair of pants for the entire season!

On a serious note; I think he used 2 chassis all season

Excluding testing, yes.

And Nico Rosberg also did the same as well. Not the first time its been done tho, Alonso was the first in the R26 in 2006 i think, but im not sure about that one.

Apparently Jenson was emailed by MercedesGP saying that they were willing to give him one of the other six BGP001 chassis's but Jenson refused to receive it as it said in his contract that due to paycut when Brawn took over Jenson or Rubens was entiled to keep the chassis if they were to win the Driver Championship, so Jenson demanded that he wanted the championship winning chassis because it was special and genuine.

If there was only one car then that's why they are fighting over it.

If there had been 3 or 4 , then the spoils could be shared.

The BGP001s in existance are as follows:

BGP001-01 = First chassis to be tested, and also used by Rubens till his win in Valencia and the one that went up in flames in Belgum.
BGP001-02 = Shaken down by Rubens at the last day of testing for Brawn in 2009, and used by Jenson for all races in 2009.
BGP001-03 = Driven to victory on its maiden outing at Monza by rubens and finished the season with him.
RA109-01 = Built for crash testing purposes in the Honda days, rumored to have came out the mould in early November 2008.
RA109-02 = Rumored to have came out the mould a week before the Honda pulll out. Used as a display car for Brawn and now Mercedes now.
RA109-03 = The chassis that came out the mould on the day of the Holda pull out, also the only RA109 BGP001 to have been married to a Honda RA808E engine to help with the packaging for the Mercedes FO108W. Car was completed with engine, now is in hiding somewhere, in Brawn colours.

I just hope that Jenson gets his BGP001-02. But i think it will be next year before he gets it as to avoid technology transfer to McLaren.

I doubt that fear of others seeing the car is what is behind this. Let's face it Ross Brawn is a clever man, if he really thought there was something on the car he wouldn't want people seeing the year after he wouldn't have agreed to put it in the contract in the first place. He could have struck a different deal with Jenson.

Well how many chassis do F1 cars normally run throughout a season? No wonder that Brawn was a bag of nails towards the end! All chassis get old and start to bend etc, and I find it hard to believe that he drove the entire season with 1 chassis!
