Who knows who threw the bottle? I haven't seen anything yet that confirms who threw the bottle onto the track. Seeing as it was Spain, it could have been a Pedro de la Rosa fan annoyed at his hero's poor performance, it could have been a Hamilton fan annoyed at the drive through penalty, it could have fallen from a plane, it could have materialised from another dimension, it could have been someone who was just plain old blitzed and thought it seemed like a good idea! Who knows?!

Prove it was a Spanish fan that threw the bottle with something that is other than circumstantial evidence.

It is not up to me to prove anything
It is up to the Spanish authorities and the race organisers to prove who was responsible and to deal with the issue.
Until this is done Spain will remain under cloud of bad sportsmanship.
F1 is not grolly ball and on balance does not usualy attract the same brain dead morons.

To condemn a whole nation for the actions of one person of unknown origins is quite a sad thing.

There is no proof. It's just a likely scenario on a Spanish track with rabid Alonso fans, expecting their driver to destroy hamilton in revenge for canada.

The bottle wasn't there one second then it's there the next.
It wasn't the safety car driver drinking then tossing his bottle  and it wasn't the stewards. It wasn't from an airplane for sure.

It had to be one of the patrons, drunk or sober.
Maybe a disgruntled fan couldn't believe he payed to watch a "manipulated" race and tossed his bottle in protest, obviously tossing it on track in disgust of the show on stage and obviously Alonso or Massa is the last car they'd like that bottle to contact.

What we do know is that a bottle, an inanimate object, is on track and there are stands on the sides of the track filled with people, mostly Alonso fans who came to see him dominate. We also know a certain driver who is not liked much in spain escaped the SC and Alonso. These are nice little clues.
For Sure!!

Pretty obvious it was one of the patrons! As I said there is no reason to condemn the entire Spanish nation for the action of one person.

Where did I condemn a whole nation.
I have stated the complete opposite.
It is in Spains interests to deal with the issue.

I didn't condemn the Spanish people either. There are a small group of F1 fans who may take the Alonso Hamilton rivalry personally. It make sense this special group will happen to be at a Spanish grand prix.
It only takes one person to throw a bottle in the track, possibly hitting a driver's head or damaging his car, or even sending the car into the walls.

Bottle throwing is not something to be taken lightly at any event, and if Hamilton get's used to poking a little fun at Alonso, that's going to ruffle some feathers with the fans and similar actions could happen in the future if that anger festers.

Look at the english fans who were burning the German flag after the WC match, a disgraceful and stupid act. Germany were like Hamilton, all they did was win, which is what they were supposed to do. They didn't trouble england.
We can't condemn England as a whole, but we do know they have hooligans as football fans, so there is a relation.
For Sure!!

If a person can throw a bottle onto the track, there would be bottles somewhere some time. We've seen plastic bags during qualifying.
The only reason we haven't seen something like this in Silverstone or anywhere else is because grandstands are separated from the track by 20-30 smth meters.

On speedTV they played a Hamilton radio message reporting the bottle on track... maybe it was thrown at him
It was my tupence worth on this subject and was more of a general observation more than anything, I wasn't looking to accuse anyone of accusing anyone. Just saying that it could have been anyone and not nessisarily an Alonso fan.

if a bottle land on its bottom it wont break, just try it out with any small Champagne or whisky bottle

Well i wont be surprised to learn if it was thrown by some rabid Alonso fans
After all we saw what they are capable of when they painted their faces with some color to resemble someone and their family at Barcelona few yrs ago

what surprises me about this thread is that nobody is quoting the alonso transmissions to his team after the hamilton safety car incident
to say to his team that they have only one thing to do in this race ..get hamilton penalised ....makes me wonder about alonso's mental stability ; ~I heard somewhere that his engineer told him to shut up and get on with his own race but can't vouch for that
