All that has to do with the power train, gearbox, clutch, fuels and lubricants, etc. Generally the mechanical side of Formula One.

Diesotto - The future?

Post

With all this talk of small capacity turbo's, is the Diesotto a revolution or merely a sidenote in the history of the internal combustion engine?

HCCI is certainly the future. Diesotto is only a brand name for a technology that will be pretty much standard in some years. The problem at the moment is getting fuel with the very narrow ignition characteristics. The other point is introducing ion curve measuring as a standard. The price for this needs to come down a bit but that will not take very long.
Formula One's fundamental ethos is about success coming to those with the most ingenious engineering and best .............................. organization, not to those with the biggest budget. (Dave Richards)
