well, LH now thinks that because drove well last races (with luck playing a big part in it, though) he should have a bigger lead and he is surprised the gap is so small!!! What Mr Hamilton obviously fails to see is that it is not only him on track and in particular that him team-mate is also around. He also fails to recognize that the gap is small because Button, like him or not, drove good races as well.

I would admire that 2 wins behind Jenson and behind in the points table he knows the reasons why it wasn't him who won in which races, and thats the important thing. I don't think he is desperate and out to prove a point, I think Lewis is being Lewis. Love him or hate him he is what he is, and what he is, is a raw racer with little compromise. Sometimes that means being blind to the whole picture and only taking a race for the current lap rather than looking at the race as a whole.

If you take into account the 18 points hamilton lost in spain due to the wheel failure a few laps from the end, he would have a large lead in the championship. Button's only reliability issue came at Monaco when he retired from a fairly lowly position at a track where he didn't have the pace and couldn't overtake, only costing him a small number of points.

Luck has favoured Button too. Vettel retired from the lead in Australia gifting him the win and the safety car worked perfectly for him in Valencia to give him 3rd place. In my opinion the luck evens itself out in the Mclaren garage.

I think the point they are making in a very round about way is that this is a fanboy/girl thread on a technical site, i.e. it doesn't belong here therefore it will be closed unless there is some technical aspect raised about Hamiltons desperation. I think this thread is entering the twilight of its life.

The living dead sort of twilight(?).

And thanks for mild summary of what's going on Andrew, in case it wasn't clear to some. :)

Frankly, I don't like/enjoy these type of threads but I'm forced to read them.

This thread is under "General Chat" section and if u look deep in that you will see that there are more threads that are not so "Technical" as u suggest but still exist. My point is that if u dont like this thread, dont read it therefore dont post either.Same goes for me and for everyone else in this forum.

Its called freedom of speech, anyone can express his/her opinion,fanboy/girl or not,so the mods will only have to worry keeping the content appropriate rather than closing this thread or others similar to this one.I would understand if this thread was locked/deleted if it was placed under some other technical section such as cars/circuits/regulations etc.

Its General chat,we talk about general stuff but keeping an appropriate level of conversation and thats where mods must take their part IMHO.

sorry private website you don't have any freedom of speech. These threads are mostly a waste of bandwidth. Bring the lock?

Poleman - I would agree that general threads are fine as long as they are kept in check but the problem is that discussing the merits of various drivers can often decend into anarchy.

Yes to the specific topic on this thread. That topic is over and we are moving forward to the next.
Any more questions?
