If they were closer to the top of the points tables and/or had been putting in top performances at all races (and had just suffered bad luck) then there would be some justification but they havn't. The fact car just hasn't been good enough since Bahrain makes me believe that this result was just a one off.
In 2002 virtually all doubt of a Schumacher/Ferrari championship was removed. This year there is a huge amount of doubt making a move like this even more risky considering the backlash.
Okay, I understand your viewpoint, personally I don't agree just yet. I think they've had the pace the last few races. But I also think that McLaren and Red Bull will hit back. We'll see in a couple of races if you are right!
Edit: Oh and regarding that lying, if they are gonna go for team orders they don't really have any other choice but lying publicly since they
are breaking the rules, really. So they don't have much of an option on that, suck for the fans that don't realize it though.
