I am supporting McLaren. If McLaren can't win it then I hope one of the RBR drivers will win it.

Alonso splitting the Red Bulls in an inferior car is pretty impressive.

16 points off Hamilton now too, very unfortunate on Lewis, he did well up to the incident and was way faster than a disapointing Button.

Fernando ALONSO: Yeah, I think so. But I think we have some credit still from this year's bad luck. If we have five or six more gifts like this, still not enough maybe. I think it was a good race. The start was super. We passed Mark thanks maybe to the clean side and then we were side-by-side with Vettel in the first corner. Not able to overtake this time but very close. Then very stressful moments when the safety car came in. Tried to go to the pits. We were before the last corner, so there is always the minimum time to respond, so we were taking care about all the stints to do a good Sunday today with no mistakes, no penalties, not anything, so we found ourselves second. Mark was incredibly quick and the soft tyres this weekend were not too soft, so he was able to do 40 laps with a set of tyres which normally is not the case. Overall a good weekend knowing that the pace was not good enough. We had 40 laps with Vettel behind and one second or two seconds quicker than us, so the lay-out of the circuit also helps today as I think on a normal circuit it was impossible to maintain second.
I wonder why Alonso calls himself "we"...

All drivers do it. It's out of respect for the team.

Sebastian Vettel: I didn’t understand what was going on and why I was penalised. It was a question mark for me. I didn’t understand at the time. Now after the race people told me what happened. The start was fine. We knew it was a long way to the first corner, so Fernando got the tow but we were able to defend. After that we had a very good first stint where we could use our speed.

Great result for not-Alonso yesterday... that's 10 wins in 12 races this season!

Not-Alonso is dominating this year. :D

Don't you think Vettel's drive-through had something to do with it?

I admit Alonso did well to keep a much faster car behind him. He didn't make any costly mistakes, unlike another former World Champion I could mention.

Who's fault is that?

Alonso kept Vettel behind him, in a car that is a second a lap slower round this track. Not bad for the Anti-christ.....

I wonder why super quick world championship Contender Massa (the instigator of this thread) could not finish in 3rd

It was Vettel's fault, but it is not achieved by Alonso ....so its not impressive as you said it. He was AS ALWAYS LUCKY (like in 2005/2006)
And in todays F1 you can hold someone who is 1 sec faster than you even in tracks like Spa/Monza, let alone in Hungary its easy peessy!
Even Rubens with 4 sec faster car took 5 laps to overtake Schumy with worn out tyres and even that was dangerous and difficult!

Alonso's lucky?
Siskue, if you think Alonso is all about luck, then evidently further constuctive dialogue will not be possible.
And by default or not, Alonso beat a faster Red Bull. The same way a driver mistake(which Vettels incident very clearly was) costs you victory, Alonso's pace allowed him 2nd position. Where was Massa after Vettels drive through?
NOT MASSA, but Alonso. NOT LUCK, He was faster than his team mate.

Facts.
More could have been done.

You guys are all "pro-Hamilton" that is extremely clear... as we all know, anyone who is "pro-Hamilton" is "anti-Alonso".

Alonso is an amazing driver and very young who will win many more titles to come.

You can hate the player, but you cant hate the game. (which he is great at).

Hamilton is a good driver, and I am a huge Alonso supporter. But I think that Alonso, Webber, Vettel and Kubica are much better...

@siskue2005
He still split them in Qualy as well - so maybe a little bit of skill involved as well ???? - No?

Hate to shatter your theory but I don't like Hamilton or Alonso.

If you think luck could get you 2 WDC's and 20-something GP victories then is your luck so horrible you haven't even won a single GP,or do you think some tiny amount of skill must need to be involved. If Alonso is all luck than surely one of his teammates must've outscored him some season. I can't believe anyone could call Alonso lucky after this season. He's had more bad luck than anyone on the grid.
