This year Massa had equal chances and oportunities to compete with Alonso until he fell to far behind. It only takes common sense to do what happened in Hockenheim if you take notice of the competition Ferrari are up against and the standings for WDC.

Shumacher is no angel, but i don't remember him begging to switch places with his teammate. Team orders that benefit Alonso are usually incited by him.
I'm partly an Alonso fan, but i honestly don't see him as a nobleman type racer as shumi, he doesn't care about pride or image. When shumacher does his wrongdoings, he does so in a regal manner, so his image is still intact.
I never heard him begging on the radio like Alonso.

I hate to say this, as I really am not a Schumacher fan by any stretch of the imagination. . .

BUT

When Schumacher was allowed past Barrichello, Team orders were NOT banned, not until after that event anyway. What Ferrari did with Teflonso and Massa was a blatant and clear disregard for the RULES and the authority of the FIA/Stewards and I feel an insult to the fans.

In my humble opinion, breaking the rules is far worse than doing something which prompts a rule change. The rule may or may not be right, but they are the rules.

To give an example, prior to the intoduction of the 70mph speed limit on the roads in Britain, a driver doing 110mph on a derestricted road would not be breaking the speed limit (although, doing so in a car of the day back then would be bloody stupid). Now that a speed limit is in force, driving at 110mph on the very same road would be classed as breaking the speed limit and rightly would attract penalties (even though it might actually be significantly safer to do so in a modern car).

There's a 'small' difference in comparing Schumi's time at Ferrari with Alonso.. Schumi's teammates never had a chance to compete and were already condemned before the start of the first race. This year Massa had equal chances and oportunities to compete with Alonso until he fell to far behind. With the exception of Massa, he never had a team mate who could match him. I don't know about JJ Letho but Verstappen, Herbert, Irvine and Barrichello were not match on a level playing field.

what i meant was he was on for a win in 6 out of 6 occasions and bar 2008 were he lost it (with just 2 laps to go)

On topic > Spa seems to be only won by great drivers not by some pay drivers
