I just cant believe how a "big team" like Ferrari could keep a driver like Felipe running for another season. Alonso being what it is: a top driver but a smug, he still is capable of doing more for the team. But Massa....

err look up the championship table.. its 32points between them .Not bad for a guy who almost lost his life one year ago, considering alonso is their saviour and wanted ,preferred man ..and rememebr he´s obliged to let Fred pass as well...
I like Felipe as a person. I think he is a good guy. I root for him when he is ahead, but Alonso is far better and will continuously overshadow him. If he does move to Renault, he will be their team leader and the go-to guy. I think that is what he wants and needs.
Kubica to Ferrari might cause issues, but i'd enjoy it.
But since this isnt going to happen and it is just bored press rumors....who cares!
Actually, if you count at 32 (I'll take your word for that, too lazy to look up the actual standings now) you have to remember that Felipe handed 7 points to Alonso and lost 7 points himself in Hockenheim, and so they'd only be 18 points apart. A single 2nd place.

I was having this thinking while creating this thread, so I'm looking for a credible source...

Before getting rid of Massa they should consider building better cars again. Massa is good enough to do it as we could see in Hockenheim. I am not a fan of the Brazilian, but I think he is not the problem.
funny how most of you forget the horrid season alonso has inflicted on himself. he's been the one making the most mistakes all season. he's LUCKY to only be 18(32) points ahead of Massa.
I know that some reports claim that Alonso and Kubica are friends/mates, but I´m pretty sure that if Kubica would move to Ferrari, life would become more difficult for Alonso.
I don´t know what happen to Alonso this year, is it the pressure to need/want to deliver a WDC at Ferrari in his first year, he makes untypical mistakes -IMO.
For somebody who has 2 WDC´s to his name, you would expect a bit more coolness/calmness in going over his business.
I still rate him as one of the top drivers out there in the moment, but 2010 is definately not one of his better years. I would still not count him out, he had a lot of things going wrong for him in Spa, will be interesting to see, how he bounces back in Monza.
As for Massa, he is a nice guy, and quick on his day, no doubt about it, but if he can´t deliver a WDC with Ferrari, then I doubt, that he will be able to deliver it in any other team. He could become the next Barichelo IMHO, if he is not careful.
If he leaves Ferrari, I think he has missed his best chance to become a WDC.
But surely I could be wrong, it´s just my opinion.
I can´t see Ferrari or Alonso wanting somebody like Kubica at Ferrari just yet.

massa had the title for a few seconds not so long ago..so at least hea had a realistic go at the championship in all fairness. He had the better of Raikkonen as well before his accident.
I admit he is not really back yet but we tend to forget very quickly in motorsports and i feel massa is not in the comfortzone with alonso who surely is treated as the prince there.
Kubica stronger than Massa ...time will tell .
I think, one of the points of difference between a driver who wins a WDC and does so more then once, and a driver who nearly wins a WDC is, that the first one creates his own "comfort zone".
This has nothing to do with the abillity to drive quick, it´s just that driving quick /quick enough, is just one side of the coin and not enough to make you a WDC.
I would venture so far as to say that ~10 drivers on the grid in 2010 are quick enough to win a WDC in a RB6 - IMHO.
For one reason or the other Massa missed his chance to become WDC in 2008/2009 IMHO - not sure life will hand him another one (chance).
