Sorry, all. I have been distracted this weekend and I'm happy to forgo my question until such time as I earn another.

Reference xpensive's post above, isn't it difficult to see the words dignitary and Mosley sitting comfortably in the same sentence? :shock: :lol: :P

Looks like a 1974 Hesketh 308 to me, but perhaps Frank ran those?

Strange!

hesketh 308 without holes

And FW01 to FW03 were chassis numbers not models.
Maybe this is the reason why the car looks sometimes quite different:

Please note there's a difference between the 1974 Hesketh 308 and the 1975 308B, in particular radiators and front wing.

According to my source, it is indeed Tony Brise in a Williams-Cosworth (Iso-Marlboro) "FW03" (IR3).

Sorry Andrew, but I beg to differ, Tony Brise did indeed drive an FW03 (IR3) in the Spanish GP 1975, but that car didn't look anywhere near the one in your picture, which I'm sure is a 1974 Hesketh 308.

Here's a picture of another FW03. Look at the air box.

According to Wikipedia, Tony Brise drove a Williams FW03 in the 1975 Spanish GP.

At the start of the 1976 season, Frank Williams Racing Cars was bought out by oil millionaire Walter Wolf, becoming Walter Wolf Racing and initially inherited the Hesketh 308C cars. Maybe this is the source of the confussion?

Eitehr way time for another question!

Forix-8W says;

This jungle of confusion only gets hotted up by the curious introduction of a Hesketh chassis posing as a Williams the following year (1976). This car, later referred to as FW05-1, is in fact the Hesketh 308C-1 the Williams boys bought together with its design rights and designer Harvey Postlethwaite. The Hesketh team carries on in 1976 with the new 308D and old 308B designs but has to forego on the C type. FW05-2 is built up from scratch on the tub that would have been 308C-2. FW05-3 was a new car that was introduced at the French GP for Jacky Ickx, before being sold to Derek Cook for his 1977 Shellsport campaign. Interestingly, the car was renamed Hesketh 308C-3 on its debut in the 1978 Aurora championship.

So this could have been an "FW05", but not with Tony Brise driving, as he died in 1975 together with Graham Hill.

Just a quick one for our friends down under;

Which WDC driver grew up in a small town with a rather vomit-inspiring name?
