This is a track about mechanical compliance.

As we all know, Downforce can be cranked to the max in Singapore because drag is not an important issue on this track. Never the less, the cars would be going through the turns at relatively slow speeds where the down-force advantage is not as big as a high g-force turn like Turkey Turn 8 for example. The cars primarily cut time but taking the shortest path of least disturbance through the turns. This is where the mechanical capability of the cars is important, for the shortest way through some of these turns does not necessarily require the highest G-force.
So here the driver who can pilot his mechanically capable car though the turns with precision will gain competitiveness.

My pick is for Pole is Sebastian Vettel. I think he is very good at precisely positioning his car with a high repeatability.

The winner will be the Boss of Course. Vettel will have another brake failure due to the hot stagnant air on this bordered track.

It is going to be nice and warm but not really hot in the night. Track temp should not exceed 25-30° C I guess.

I think he'll spin and wipe the tail end of the ferrari towards the wall. Suspiciously, Fernando Alonso would have already pitted and he moves into the lead after the safety car. Oh wait that's the other Brazilian teammate... :p

I do not think that there is a sensible way to show this. One can look at the two graphs of the points table and the odds. This is pretty instructive. When you compare Webber and Vettel or Hamilton and Button you realize that the betting money has always appreciated a driver with higher potential speed. Only since Vettel made it a habit to throw away important points - which was from Hungary onwards - Webber's better race craft is equally appreciated. Button still gets a big discount compared to the points he has hauled.

unfortunately the poll here is always manipulated ; the site is aware of it and trying to do something about it but they tell me it isn't that easy to block

if you deduct 15% from the alonso figure [ ie 35% should really be 20% ] and distribute it between the other contestants I would think that would give some idea of the reality of people's opinion here

How does a poll get manipulated? And why on earth would anyone want to? It's not like it gives the guy a greater chance anyways.

personally I follow this site in the hope that there are a majority of contributors who take an analytical view and think of things that I have missed; but , of course , you will always get some weirdo's

I think it is to do with cookies. If you log off and clear all cookies before switching off you PC, you can log another vote when you sign into the site again. I don't think there is a way round this (any computer geniuses out there advise on this??) so everyone will just have to be honest!

it has nothing to do with cookies, i can simply vote multiple times without cleaning cookies, i think it is a bug, but i cant say anything as i aint the owner

That's how it works with me. I can only vote once (which is enough) and after that I can only view the results of the poll I have voted in, until I log off and restart my PC and log on again.

it's a pity that some alonso fan-boy does this every time

personally I just compare the votes for the other drivers to get an idea of their relative support , there does not appear to be any manipulation of anyone else's votes I am happy to say
