personally I just compare the votes for the other drivers to get an idea of their relative support , there does not appear to be any manipulation of anyone else's votes I am happy to say
+1.

If you look at the recent polls its very obvious some little troll is wasting there time manipulating them to favour Alonso. Now they're getting the attention they don't deserve.

Anyway, I think Webber could nail this one

I can't see any reason why Hamilton can't repeat his 2009 success given the fact that McLaren have gotten their ebd/retarded ignition config working properly (or have they :?: ).

It's mostly the ride that people are talking about (I think). Singapore is VERY bumpy, and McLaren doesn't handle bumps well this year.

Statistically Vettel will finish ahead of Webber. The tracks this year which Webber has finished ahead of Vettel, he did so last year as well, and vice versa, so their finishing position relative to the other (ahead/behind) remains unchanged. The only exceptions are Malaysia where Vettel spun in 2009, and Turkey 2010 (We all know what happened there) and Silverstone 2010 where Vettel got a puncture. And in Hockenheim.

Night race. Thunderstorm. Bumpy Street circuit. Wow.

The only thing missing is for a thunder strike to catch out the power

Having said that, I must clarify that I do not wish to see accidents/fatalities, just that a few incidents would be exciting. The only thing I remember from last year's Singapore GP is Heidfeld saying, "Maybe we twy to find Sutil a bwain. If he wants to dwive on ze twack he should be looking on ze twack"

A thunder strike? How on earth could the sound waves knock out the power ;)

that was the best comment of all time by Heidfeld...he was looking straight faced and said to the rtl host :i think the team still tries to find a brain for sutil in the the pitgarage ..
before this they showed onboard footage of sutil trying a donut to rejoin after his spin collecting poor Heidfeld..absolutely bizarre...you could see that he just did not look to the left ..no turn of head ignoring the fact he was going to rejoin the track at almost right angle..

I meant lightning strike, of course. I was... errm... testing whether or not people were alert enough to catch that

on that topic, how the hell did mclaren win singapore last year? they had a severe downforce problem until halfway through the season, and then wins two of the most downforce-dependent circuits (hungary and singapore). It was a lights to flag victory as well i think in singapore

Not lights to flag. Singapore isn't downforce dependent. The key to singapore lies more with your mechanical grip, and last year's McLaren always has that. Having downforce can help, but unless you have the mechanical, you won't succeed in Singapore

By that I mean, you won't succeed on the circuit of course. Succeeding at work/life is a different matter

One lightning strike will not take out the power. It is not coming from a grid. They designed a segmented redundant generator system. There are 12 twin generators supplying 125 light projectors each. If one segment gets hit by something the backup generator is on standby and takes the load.

Will the race not be cancelled if it rains? Rain on the drivers visor + bright flood lights would make visibility very poor.

Singapore Grand Prix organisers have made minor revisions to the circuit ahead of this weekend's race in a bid to improve safety and driver comfort.

After complaints in recent years about severe bumps, resurfacing has taken place between Turn 3 and Turn 7, as well as between Turn 14 and 19.

The pitlane has also been lowered by one centimetre since last year's event - which should ensure a smoother transition when drivers rejoin the track.

I don't get the "lowering" of the pitlane. What exactly do they mean? Was the pitlane elevated compared to the rest of the track?
