But has anyone heard of AeroGel? But apparently this stuff costs $300,000,000,000(billion) per milligram :wtf:
I believe you are thinking of the aerogel that was used in the Stardust experiment, to send a satellite through the tail of a comet, capture material (with the aerogel), and return it to earth. Because the entire experiement was devoted to samples, the collector medium (aerogel) had to be as free of contaminanats and such as much as possible.

Actually, ballast isn't that cheap for racing cars. The standard is tungsten, and it can cost $35 per kilo.

Up here in Toronto we're in the middle of an election for a new mayor, and the buzz is improving transit. The most recent figures bouced around are; a kilometre of light rail costs about $100 million, a kilometre of subway runs around $300 million, and above-ground subways are about $250 million per kilometre.
Racing should be decided on the track, not the court room.

That is what is called a rip-off, rail roads costs a fraction of what is stated there.

Sounds indeed a little overpriced DK, a month ago, a new 190 km long high-speed (250 km/h) railway, including 25 km tunnels and numerous bridges, was completed in northern Sweden at a total cost of 1.5 GEUR, or 8 MEUR/km.

You win, that is 1 million dollars for five negative kilos. No, wait, that works out to the cheapest price per kilo ever. #-o

I bought myself new eyewear the other day, Titanium frames from Hugo Boss, they weighed in at an amazing 27 grams.

At 3950 SEK, 430 EUR, that's 16 000 EUR per kg, beat that?

I imagine the paper of a patent, weighting very little could worth anything.

I think I've got a winner. LSD: at $10 for 100 micrograms, we're at 73 MEUR/kg. Of course, as with anything illegal, all you're really paying for is the risk. You know how much trouble people have weighing risk, though.
