What happens then? Will he be classified or classified as a DNF? Or will he be considered as having finished the race?
Case study Button, Austrailia 2005.
He pulled up just 4.3 meters short of the finish line, and missed out on a points paid finish, and was put in with the classified finishers, and from what im led to belive, anyone within 10% of the lap distance is classified, so at Monza, the 44 laps equates into 4 laps, meaning anyone up to lap 39 is classified. Monaco is 79 laps long, meaning anyone up to 8 laps short is classified.
Thats the general rule of thumb.
However, if a engine blows under the current rule, thats you down to 7 blocks.
