JYS asked for a king-size bed in his room, an serious xtravaganze in the woods of Sweden back in 1973.

"Big Bengt" of High Chaparrall failed miserably in accommodating this request by the way.

More folklore; The eventual winner of the race, Denny Hulme in his McLaren M23, made a funny statement after the race,
after overtaking Ronnie Peterson who had a slow puncture in the final stages, what did he say?

Denis Hulme sadid something like this; "After passing Ronnie two laps from the end, I was sure the crowd was going to throw empty bear cans at me after crossing the line!"

However, more folklore, what did Mario Andretti famously say after winning one of the 1978 GPs in his Lotus 79?

"It's hard to explain" is what he said about becoming F1 champion.

Mario said in front of everyone including Chapman;

"A monkey could have won in this car today"

Incidentally, just for you JET, he said the very same thing about the Penske-Mercedosaourus, years later.

I remember the rules being bent in 1994 for the "superpushrod" engine.

Fittipaldi nearly won but crashed towards the end giving Al Unser Jr the win.
More could have been done.

Either way, NH's failing to comprehend the situation made way for Tony George being completely fed up with CART, deciding to do things his own way with his Fisher-Price IRL thing. The end of open-wheel racing in the US if you wish.

On the subject, toeing the F1 line carefully as you might notice, which Formula one driver broke the unwritten rule of drinking milk after winning at the brickyard?

that is the helmet of Jabouille... so even if the car looks not quite like the first car they did it should be Team Renault.
the project was officially a Alpine project as it was to be a top secret thing..year was 1976 ... :roll:

Frank Williams had drivers of many different nationalities driving for him but, sadly enough, only one Dane.

Who was he?

Of course it was "smiling Tom", we were all cheering for him at the Swedish GP in 1973.
