STR + RBR = collaboration ?

Excuse my ignorance and my bad English
I've been watching the development of STR and RBR, some parts of their cars seem to be symmetrical. what surprises me most are the front wings and floor.
Are they developing their car together?

Up until last year the Torro Rossa was the same chassis as the Red Bull, so there will be parts that are still being carried through

Actually the year before. Last year they were already designing independently I believe.

STR and RBR collude & share information as much as McLaren F1 and McLaren Electronic Systems collude & share information (and they're even under the same roof!).


In other words, none.


This is one area where the organisational structure and independence of these organisations is strictly policed and religiously adhered to.


The only time information will cross organisations is when an employee leaves one team and joins another, but hell, that's prevalent across the industry.

It makes much sense to keep two teams now face a ceiling for investments believe the Ferrari up to 3 teams could afford to take more time in the wind tunnel. More sense if you look at the car from 2010 to 2011 of rbr little has changed.

If you dont think STR or Red Bull have passed info on, howcome they share so many similairites, includiing paymasters?
Of course there is information transfer, however small or beneficial. It is in Red Bull's interest that they stretch every pound in F1, why have 2 teams in F1 otherwise?

Also, does STR allow RBR to browse the information regarding their engines, in return for a few aero pointers here and there?

If they were my teams, I would absolutely make sure of it. It's business, first and foremost.

Of course not but STR used to be allowed a much closer link than now. The cars then were very similar and it's likely that once you have a similarity it will take some time for that to evolve out. The STR looks different this year, of course because they have evolved a different sidepod design. No doubt other aspects will change as time goes on too.

Unlike STR Force India does not share chassis.Mclaren provides the suspension setup at the rear end of the car along with the engine and gearbox.

STR and RBR do no longer share chassis either. I don't think there are major collusions going on in the design and technical aspects of their cars. For one, I don't think Ferrari would be too happy if their customer was relaying vital info over to their main rival.
