What is the Specification of F1 fuel currently using?

All that has to do with the power train, gearbox, clutch, fuels and lubricants, etc. Generally the mechanical side of Formula One.

I cant remember, but i remember reading in a car mag at work (Skiving, and not sure what mag it was) that if F1 fuel was to be put in a BMW 1 Series, it would instantly get arround 25 extra horsepower from the standard 87-95ron fuel that is onsale at the pumps today in the UK.

I belive they had access to some F1 fuel and they put 5 diffrent cars into a dyno for an hour and tested them, they also did a baseline test for all of them using fuel from the pump as well, and each car got arround 20% more peak power from F1 fuel, as well as the fuel burning in a more efficient manner, however the ammount of fuel used per hour is about 35% more than the fuel at the pumps.

F1 fuel is street legal, but is agressive stuff, arguably better for the environment, but generally fuel consumption is miles less.

They said if a F1 engine was to use pure pump fuel it would reduce engine life by up to 300km and also reduce power by arround 10% in most cases.

300km is tiny considering the power increase. So that is good.

On the power figures though, you are saying the fuel has 5 times the calorific value?

OR

is the calorific value almost the same and the spark timing advanced to extract the power?
