His rear wing was not open. They are not allowed to use the DRS in the tunnel at any stage. That obviously includes the race as the zone is the start finish 'straight'

Watching p2 Vettel didn't deploy all of his Kers on his fast laps compared to the others, whether he can't find places to use it up or just not wanting to show full potential.. his times were fast through middle sector but seemed to be consistently slightly off in the first sector. Alonso and Hamilton were flying through 1 and 3.

Or couldn't get an over-hot battery to charge properly.

Yep, come race day the RBRs are dead meat, I think this one will be a straight Hamilton vs Alonso fight, ... unfortunately (for me at least) the ferrari seems to have a slight edge at the moment.

That's a good point on the battery.

I agree on Alonso.. I was quite surprised how much speed he has! I am hopeful for Hamilton as he seems happy and definitely get the impression he was just happy to start building it up..

"You quickly get used to DRS and KERS Hybrid, but you’re only really on it for the pit straight and up the hill; you tend not to use it through the slower sections. Maybe I’ll find a few more places to use it for qualifying – but I’ll keep that in my pocket!"

I like the sound of that.

I am surprised you are surprised that one of the fastest driver out there, if not the fastest, has some speed to show

I think that he's surprised because of Ferrari's recent pace...

Well last year both Kubica and Alonso (prior to binning it) were in my opinion doing very special things in Monaco FPs.

Are they cleaning only the racing line? Or do they do a second pass in the outside later?

Maybe Horner will start to moan around now about thier lack of engine power ...It looks like Monaco does not offer the 2 downforce level concept of RedBull to be exploited and the oposition are all using similar base level of df?

Does anyone know what will happen if Team Lotus get a bad judgement (ie loose) in their high court battle with Group Lotus today? Will they have to race on Sunday with all Lotus names covered up on cars/uniforms?

I really hope they get a good result today at 2pm, when the judgement is announced! [-o<

So who expects there to be any on track overtaking here with KERS and DRS?

I'd love to see some, but expect none.

I also hope they double up on cranes in the DRS zone.

This all depends on the outcome of the qualifications, if MSC or HAM goofs up and starts last, you will see a lot of overtaking, while if WEB goofs, you will at least get to see a lot of spectacular attempts!

Guess is that Red bull as usual have a little bit in the reserve in terms of speed; but others are closer than before, my bet is on vettel/webber on pole and one of the smaller teams like sauber or force india to surprise; at least in quali

Do you think Quali times will be in the 1.13's?
