OK, OK.. lets look at the incidents to see if it was really low driving standard on Hamilton's part.CHT wrote:I think if it was a rookie (instead of Lewis) that took out 2 cars in the same race. everyone will be calling for FIA to ban him from F1.Fil wrote:I'm not a fan of Hamilton at all, but I agree with n smikle.
We want overtaking, and overtaking attempts in F1.
Hamilton put it on the line in Monaco, even after failing on his first overtaking attempt. My hat off to him for providing a spectacle, and showing that overtaking in F1 is still not always easy.
Oh and his post-Monaco GP comments, and his driving are two separate issues. Don't blur the two together.

Oh, the fun of crashing into rookie cars! You always get a laugh off that! If you're a tad lucky and people don't see the replay well, the stupid rookie gets the penalty!CHT wrote:... While that was an absolutely beautiful move, he was damn lucky that Schu chose to go wide and avoid a collision. Had he not done so, the crash would have been Hamilton's fault.ringo wrote:Hamilton is THE BOSS.
he opened up a can of woop ass on shumacher into turn 1. Overtake of the year.
do repeat the video at 0:01 several times clearly shows that maldonado did it early. Compare the racing line of the car behind Hamilton... my 2 cents opinion, that is the racing line that maldonado should go. When maldonado doing this, he use the term "defending" the position. For me.. this is a jungle law where the racer who want to overtake does not have a fair chance and have a big chance of possible penalty. So.. The FIA rules itself "does not encourage the overtakes" in F1.n smikle wrote:OK, OK.. lets look at the incidents to see if it was really low driving standard on Hamilton's part.CHT wrote:I think if it was a rookie (instead of Lewis) that took out 2 cars in the same race. everyone will be calling for FIA to ban him from F1.Fil wrote:I'm not a fan of Hamilton at all, but I agree with n smikle.

It's never as simple as that though - if you watch carefully at the beginning of that clip Hamilton did not brake any later than Maldonaldo or try and carry any more speed into the corner. He was alongside at the point they hit the brakes and Maldonaldo just turned in on him. Remember when Schumacher nearly drove Barrichello into the pit wall and got a penalty for it, that demonstrates that the lead driver cannot just take any line he likes, he must leave space for other cars. Had Hamilton tried to out brake him and steamed up the inside then I would agree there would be cause for complaint, simple fact is that instead Maldonaldo turned in on him and ran him off the road.CHT wrote:it will be nice to show the clip that is in real time. at least we know if there is any chance Maldonaldo could space to lewis without ending up in the wall. from what I can see, Maldonaldo is definitely taking the racing line.
