Red Flag - What F1 can learn from NASCAR

Post

After the red flag incident in Monaco and the ramifications of it, it seems that a few things CAN be learned from the US NASCAR series. New tires & Repairs? Not under the stoppage! If the teams wish to enter the pits and service the car after the race resumes (yellow flag conditions), then fine but not while the race is stopped. Treat it as Parc Ferme conditions. While I don't agree, I can understand tire warmers but please... Nothing else! Another item I think F1 could adopt is during pit stops. Limit the number of crew "over the wall". While the 3 second stops are impressive, there are way too many guys in there. Not to mention the cost saving from all those bodies, the travel, etc.

Thoughts?

Holy Sacred Cow, Batman! You DARE suggest F1 can learn something from NASCAR!?

Seriously, Monaco did reveal problems with the red flag rule, so FIA will address it -- eventually. I like the idea of fewer men "over the wall." Worth thinking about. It would lead to slower stops and the possibility for more errors -- could lead to a bit more excitement.
