On-board Video - Hamilton, Massa Crash at Monaco 2011

http://www.formula1onlive.com/2011/05/v ... onaco.html

I think it was Massa's problem, he drives just out-line, the same Hamilton came to the right line of track! Other than Massa never use his side mirror.

Rubbish. Hamilton crashes a lot. Senna got a bad name mostly because of two very special incidents. Yes, Senna was aggressive but he didn't ever take people out like the field day Hamilton was having at Monaco.

We just want Hamilton to drive a little cleaner and not cause avoidable accidents without necessarily curbing his overtaking (unless of course aggression and intimidation is part of his tactics for overtakes)

So... Senna has taken people out twice – that gives Hamilton 1 more to go, given that the only person he has taken out was Maldonado (assuming you pin the blame on Hamilton, which I don't).

And yes, partly intimidating people is a valid tactic in F1 – whether it be scaring them to defend a line you're not going to use, or scaring them to give you more room at a turn. Bottom line – when you go into close wheel to wheel combat with other people, you're going to hit them occasionally, especially when there's novices involved.

One must have very - let's call it "specific" - moral values in order to stand an argument in defense of Mr. Lewis Hamilton here.

It was really unexpected to see that some people here are actually blaming Massa and even Maldonado (!?!?!?) for those incidents.

To be perfectly honest it's completely appalling to face such preposterous "explanations" from so called sports fans.

You know, sometimes, sometimes at the very least, 1 + 1 really equals 2.

The whole "race card" interview just came to prove that fact, as only very stupid words can sometimes take the attention away from a very stupid actions. It didn't pay off and it was subsequently transmuted into a mere "joke".

Hurrum, whatever.

Doesn't matter how many sophisms are spawn to cover the truth, they can never alter it; reality remains and it's only fair to simply face it and move on.

The thing about the empty fuel tank issue was that at the time it was legal. A bit 'naughty' but technically legal.

A bit like Schuie taking his penalty in the pit lane at the end of the last lap in order to win and serve the penalty. It was cynical but legal at the time. As with Hamilton's fuelling issue, the rules were clarified shortly afterwards.

It's just a case of "playing to the whistle" as said in a number of ball games e.g. rugby.

It would seem that you are not going to make the classic road racing pass at Monaco without the other car cooperating. At smaller NASCAR ovals the situation is the same. You get a warning tap and if not acknowledge it is followed by a push out of the way. Could this be what Hamilton was implementing. He'll follow for a period, but after that he is coming thru.

It would seem the RB planned on no one knocking Vettel out of the way. Why plan a one stop race if you don't believe that to be the case. It was clearly planned that he would be crawling around at the end of the race. Has Hamilton now made the statement that he is not going to accept that stadigy?

I dont want to make this a bash thread but he has to share some of the blame on Massa, Maldonado? And the move on Sutil, forcing all cars into evasive actions and got Petrov in the wall? Very ugly.

You are quite right and the oil is found in or just outside of Scottish waters and a large chunk of the gas comes into the UK through the terminal at St Fergus.

Scottish independance will never happen. There will be far too much time wasted in debate and hyperbole and then it'll be time for another election. I don't think the decision lies completely with the SNP. I think Westminster has the final say and I can't see them saying yes at the moment. Maybe once the oil and gas wells are empty or no longer economically viable this will change. Probably won't be in my life time though so I'm not going to worry about it.
Most of the oil/gas is already licensed to companies by the UK govt. Any thoughts that lots of cash will suddenly flow in to a new Scottish central bank is wishful thinking. It'd be funny if Shetland, for example, decided they wanted to cede from the UK too. Lots of black gold flows from their fields too.

Anyway, anyone who thinks that dwindling oil reserves, whiskey and a few kilt sales will fund a nation is mad...

Well, with 20 pages here of logical and unbiased discussion, the only conclusion I can come to is that you have all succinctly and concisely agreed upon the driving standards of one Lewis Hamilton.
