The Grenzlandring was built by the Nazis, supposedly in secret, as a test track.

As folklore has it, the circuit was "discovered" after WWII.

From 1948-1952 motorcycle and car races were held until it was shut down because of severe safety issues.

brooklands?! I think it's on the river! I'm going mental.

EDIT: No its not. silly me. It's the straight at Le Mans (circuit de le sarthe) right?

Hmm... At this rate, we're going to get 5-10 questions like this that everyone goes "brooklands" to, and then someone's going to post brooklands and no one will answer that...

Japan is to the north (ish) of South Korea.

Try western Europe.

At that latitude 5600 miles gets you (almost) around the world, but I'll redirect my search.

I did just Google the distance so it may have been wrong, but it is definately not in Japan.
