OK, this one:

I'll give you a clue - a famous Canadian racing driver had an exciting battle for second place here.

Yes. Perhaps I was too generous with the clue!

Carrying on with Dijon '79, the race is remembered for the battle for second place, but who finished on the podium, and in what order (i.e. 1st - blah, 2nd - blah, 3rd - blah), and in what cars (Manafacturer and car, not just manafacturer)?

No wikipedia! You're only cheating yourself!

I watched it yesterday so it was:

1. Jean-Pierre Jabouille - Renault
2 Gilles Villeneuve - Ferrari
3 René Arnoux - Renault

Can't remember the cars though!!!! Incomplete answer.

( I don't have a time machine by the way - the BBC are showing extended highlights as Paul Di Resta's classic grand prix choice).

In 1979 that would have been a Renault RS10 and a Ferrari 312T.

An epic battle fro 2nd place from before my time but I have it on a Murray Walker video from years back. Always worth a watch!

I just want to say, whoever confused Donington Park with Mugello - shame on you! Off ye go to middle England and run round Donington backwards three times whilst reciting God Save the Queen in Swahili to redeem yourself from the vengeful F1 Gods!

Right, continuing on the theme of bits of circuits, and to be as awkward as Matt21, here's another piece of tarmac once used by F1:

Name the circuit.

Ah even better. That will surely more than appease the F1 Gods and guarantee your place in F1 heaven.
