Read the translation done by 747Heavy. Lauda is actually a fan of Hamilton.

I don't like driver bans as much as the next person but Lauda maybe has a point. A ban is extreme but sometimes extreme measures are needed to make someone simmer down.

Name one time when a ban has been used simply because a driver's attitude has been disliked. Bans are handed out because of actual dangerous occurrences, not because people don't like each other very much.

That's why I don't like driver bans. They are very extreme but ultimately it is up to Jean Todt.

Lauda likes to talk a lot, but in what he says there is always some small truth. I think he just sees Hamilton's driving getting out of control, which i dont, but he has been overly agressive. Not that it is a bad thing, but different than Hamilton's usual self.

Ban him and F1 is over.

So let's just relax and wait for the next race. No one died in webberk Heiki crash last year. So it's pretty impossible for anyone to die in any overtaking manouver, especially one from Hamilton, has he has never wrecked another car in a crash.

When he does this, then he can leave like trulli and Webber...

Oh wait.. those guys are still racing. #-o

Lauda why didn't you sanction them?

Has a driver ever been banned from F1..???...anyway....I can't stand Lh but a ban would be stupid and way over the top.....

Wow, the spite...

He has really rattled the cages, then.

Good.

As for Lauda (or anyone for that matter). He can say what he wants. There is something called 'freedom of speech'. But is it right to persecute and penalise an F1 driver by personal opinion ? No.

Hamilton's detractors are trying to establish public opinion that he is dangerous and stupid. They are imagining that they can really hamper him by having a net effect on FIA / steward decisions. And while at it, accusing his fans with... whatever. Don't care anymore tbh. I just hope Hamilton does not lose any of his aggression, both on and off the track; otherwise that'll be one less reason to watch F1.

Funny someone is clearly trolling here.

Nowhere in the report did it say the JB/LH incident was JB's fault and yet someone could just state that as fact. Anyone with a right mind will see that the stewards verdict is that both drivers didn't have enough information at that moment to avoid the incident and hence nobody is held responsible, i.e. no one is at fault.

Also anyone with a right mind will not use this particular incident to comment on LH's recent driving. I do see one doing that in this thread, making a fast-slow-lane analogy, which I agree is completely wrong. But other than that I think it is the other incidents people are commenting on. So, don't get too excited, please.

On topic, I am not from the Lauda days so I'd rather not comment on his words or his credibility. As for Hamilton, I regard his driving very highly, but I agree lately he's been involved in quite a number of incidents / accidents which have raised a lot of attention. I don't think his driving changed too much - he was always very aggressive - he's just trying to put up a fight and maybe recently luck was not on his side and 10 gambles out of 10 didn't pay off. In some incidents he was maybe taking too much risk, in others he was more innocent, but in truth my hero Kobayashi is probably doing the same only that the latter had more luck (or maybe a tad more skill since he's my hero   ). So I don't agree this is a trend developing like he's gonna turn into a car-ramming maniac.

OK.. let me retract my statements.. 8)

This post is all about trolling Hamilton fans.

I decree all "defenders of Hamilton" to seize posting in this thread.

8)

It seems the detractor's have no other driver to talk about. You can just do a post search on them, and all you see is Hamilton, Hamilton and some more Hamilton. If Hamilton ever stopped F1 how would they breathe?

Cue Leanne rimes.

So what about the other 24 drivers? I guess they are just along for Hamilton's wete and wild ride.
ringo wrote:Lauda why didn't you sanction them?
Probably because it was a one off incident and the drivers involed were man enough to own up for their mistakes.

A little bit of honesty and humility goes a hell of a long way to showing yourself in a better light. True that is. 8)

Notably, both these guys admitted in Canada that at Monaco they had made a gut reaction, and having seen further footage acknowledged that Hamilton was not at fault, Maldonado was.

Someone always takes it too far. To bang on about shooting Lauda is why this is locked.

Oh? And who did he kill or injure on track? (well, other than himself, but we'll never know really about that)

Who did Schmacher kill or injure on track?
