I think it was Rob Smedley that said that.

Because Hamilton has crashed like 37 times in the last three races?

Anyone would say it's a valid subject.

Perhaps you don't remember the Schumi times, back in 2004, 2005. Same story. Every race was a boiling pot of opinions.

Fans of Schumacher were hurt when their idol showed feet of clay and people like me who were disgusted by his (for us) previous lack of sportmanship, that is, the concept that anything goes when winning is at stake rejoiced in the opportunity to show that OTHER drivers had different (not better) qualities that made them more worthy of victory.

Schumacher fans were in an extremely defensive position because the faults they were seeing were incompatible with the image they had of the person.

If only we learned to smile when those people make mistakes!

So, we're not fighting about who's the worst/dumbest driver nor over who caused which collision. It's clear the position belongs to Hamilton, at least during this year. I'm sure everybody will agree with that, as previous threads clearly show. Blink, blink.

Or at least I'm almost sure.

Unfortunately, I for one can't' believe a single word that comes out of the old codgers mouth.....
Generally I don't care about what people say. I have to be clear with myself. When everything goes well, people celebrate you, when you make mistakes people criticize you.

More to the point... the discussion dying down again is not great for his pocket. Stirring it up again is ;)

MrE is looking at this from purely a entertainment point of view. If you have someone who is attracting controversy, it will help shift tickets and attract views hoping to see something exciting.

I think this is part of the reason why Jean Todt held off throwing the book at Hamilton. After all, he is probably the only driver who will challenge* Vettel this year (Good Lord I feel dirty and ill saying that  ).

* When I say challenge, I mean finish a distant second.

What a waste of my life reading all that crap...

Bloody hell!

Was a decent race eh? Anyone watch it or was it all frothing at the maw when your favourite driver went out?

Do you lot not like F1 - just some drivers?

I thought the rain tyres issue was poorly managed - if it is too wet..go slowly...

Bernie is surely looking at it from a 'profits' pov, but honestly did we expect anything different ? That doesn't suddenly make Hamilton guilty for racing contacts though.

When he leaves there will be the next media friendly driver to fill the void. Don't worry Ringo, you'll still have someone to root for.

If Hamilton went to race Indy...would you follow him there?

What did you do before he came to F1?

The mind boggles :wtf:

Hamilton makes Bernie Money! He is Bernie's little TV hooker. And being the pimp that Bernie is, it's like loosing your favourite girl, the one that gets all the guys and can do all the styles.
