Looks like he's been let off with the prision sentance and just has to pay 1800 Euros.

The public prosecutor originally demanded three months' imprisonment plus a 450-euro fine for Sr Carabante, but the prison sentence was replaced by an 1800-euro fine.

Yes the english article states that, however it is from back in May, where the
French/Spanish articles are from today.
They both mention the 3 month prision sentence.
Perhaps the proescutor appealed, afterwards and got the 3 month sentence finally reinstalled. (just guessing)
Just posted the english one, as it sheads some ligth about the reason for his sentence.

considering the fine it seems very unlikely Carabante has not the money to avoid getting imprisoned...so it must be more something else why he does not pay and let things rest...?

So his company steals about 290k Euros and they fine him a measilly amount given his current resources... something smells fishy
