I was passing by and saw the Oldsmobile F85. Well, it might be interesting to know that The Cutlass ran as pace car at Indy, perhaps in the years in which this race was part of F1 calendar. This picture shows also what was to become the origin of the Oldsmobile Rocket Logo. Other than that, I know nothing about this car that could remotely connect it with Formula One and nowadays I leave google to others more able than me.

I know that the F85's V8 engine block was downsized to fit in the Pontiac Grand Prix ...

As far as my book over F1 engines says, the Repco V8 was based on the Oldsmobile block.

Well, we've some interesting musings there.

Thanks Andrew (should it be andrew?) and Ciro (less wordy this time, but no less succinct) and also Gridwalker (sithee lad) - but you educated me, but did not fill the gap I thought would be filled.

Matt - 21 (once, or forever?)

I do have this motor as being the base for the 1966 and 1967 winning Repco-Brabhams of Denny "the Bear" Hulme and "Black" Jack Brabham.

So, Matt...your go please.

I'm a formal person Sir!

As long as there is no affront, nor malice, inferred with a capital letter...we'll see that the Queen's English is* applied, when I am able.

* not sure how in some respects...but names are CAPITALS and so I was taught!

I think it is Erik Comas and the car, which I realise you didn't ask for, is a Ligier JS37. But the test location? Hard.... Estoril?

Benetton B193C. The system was tested at Estoril after the 1993 Portuguese GP and Schumacher ran it in the following Japanese and Australian GPs. Patrese didn't like how it felt and so raced with it switched off. Driver aids like this were banned for 1994.

Maybe an easy one but a few years ago, a certain team manager's car got wrecked by his drivers.

Who were the drivers?
Who was the team manager?
What make was their car?
What happened?
What did one of the drivers involved say to the team manager about the car?

The winner is the 1st to get all 5 parts correct.
