Site maintenance next weekend (15/7-16/7)

Post

As it looks now, the currently gallery system will be replaced with a new one next Friday. Timing is not exact yet, but during the conversion, the site will be taken offline for the operation to go as swift as possible.

There will be a "site maintenance" warning of course, but I just want to inform you ahead of it. There's some minor work left but next Friday looks likely.

In any case it will be done late/early GMT time. As of 0:00 until it's done that is.

Note that this is a first of several upgrade steps for f1t. The gallery is just an architectural improvement to increase performance.

Is it just me or the whole page is not working?

was having a same issue, since about 0:00 until 5 minutes ago I was unable to enter the site, here in Opera it returned me a blank page, IE9 simply returned a 404 error.

Although on these feautures, do these make the site look different or something? Might be interesting to give some more information about it.

The update is not complete yet, there's nothing to see at this moment.

I've hit a bump with the software installed on the server being a version that is too old, so will have to fix that first. After that, the gallery upgrade can be finished.

I'll report back when it's done or when more downtime is required. Of course as little as possible, and at this time I see no reason why we'd need any more soon.

I believe for some reason proxies are caching empty pages.
I had it as well, just press F5 or Ctrl+F5 and all was solved for me.

Trying to access http://www.f1technical.net/ throws a 404 error both at home and at work (both in the UK if that's relevant?). Can access the pages behind e.g. http://www.f1technical.net/forum/ works fine.

Odd.

It's very odd indeed.
I noticed it's resolved in firefox with ctrl+F5, but in chrome you need to clear internet cache.

I fear I have set the http response headers wrong during maintenance, allowing browsers to cache the inaccesibility. Not sure why they would cache any 404 Not found though :(

It sucks because it's running fine...

Absolutely strange. Here it looks like an intermittent problem.

It works, and 5 minutes later it's blank again. I'm baffled and will look into it later today. It sure isn't good as obviously most people go to the homepage...

More reports welcome of course!

I've tried reaching the site using both IE9 and FF5. IE gives me the 404 and FF a blank page. Tried ctrl+F5 with FF, didn't work.

The homepage is going in and out for me. The logo's back (upper left), I haven't seen that in a couple weeks. I'm using Chrome.

I'm getting a site-generated 404 at the gallery, not like when Chrome completely can't find something, more like just that part of the page won't load but the site navigation is still there. Database, news, technology, and interactive seem to be ok.

Thanks for your time, Tomba.

keep getting the blank pages here in Opera, sometimes it suddenly works again, but most of the time it just returns a blank page.

EDIT: Also Tomba if you want I might get some reports from my browser, got some pretty useful tools built in.
