no that´s not what I have in mind and it is a very familiar or ordinary material basically used as is in our everyday life as well .´..Giving the hint it is asociated especially with northern europe ...even if this material is to be found almost everywhere.Density is specified at a rather vague 600 to 700Kg/m³... that should give it away...

By Northern Europe I think of wood.
The skid block is made from beech-wood which has an density of around 700kg/m3.

Wood .In fact Birchwood .

The skid is made from dried veneers of birchwood laminated with resin to a compact structure.

the trade name for it is Jabroc:

http://www.jabroc.com/

So Jeffsvilleusa your turn as you found the right direction ,matt 21 I hope this is ok for you..even if your answer was perfectly covering what I was expecting .

the Jabroc thing I find very funny in the formula 1 context with all things so precisely engineered only to come up with a skid block made from wood with variing densities ...
On a sidenote -Frank Costin (brother to Mike Costin /Cosworth,build whole chassis from wood and his work is sure worth taking a look at....

Your go matt21- Massa won the Brazilian Grand Prix for the second time (also 2006) at the conclusion of the 2008 season, and a heartbreaking win if there ever was one, as he saw the championship slip through his fingers on the last lap with Lewis' position improvement thanks to Timo Glock staying out on dry tyres in the changing conditions and slipping down the order past Hamilton.

Hamilton also won his home grand prix that year a few months prior, so a good guess CMSMJ1.

Who is the current safety car driver in F1 and in which F1 race did he lead for more laps other than the eventual winner of the actual race? 8)
Generally I don't care about what people say. I have to be clear with myself. When everything goes well, people celebrate you, when you make mistakes people criticize you.
