Hi,ok should slick tyres be used in wet or dry conditions and what does a Yellow flag mean and when a red light been displayed do all cars have to clear the circuit or do they conntinue to do another lap Thankyou Darren Jones
Slick tyres are tyres that don't have any tread. They're used in the dry because they offer the largest rubber contact patch with the ground. Tyres with varying amounts of tread are used in the wet to squeeze water out from between the tyre and the track.
Yellow flags mean that there is a hazard ahead, drivers must back off a little when they see them and be prepared for the unexpected. Double waved yellows mean that there are marshals on the track and that drivers should be prepared to stop.
Red flags indicate that the session has been stopped. Drivers must stop at the end of the lap they are on. How they do this depends on the session. In practice or qualifying, they must enter the pits. During the race they must form up on the grid.
