By the end of the season JET Mclaren had a decent rake & flexing wing too. Ferrari's wing were flexing all over the place. Mclaren had a long wheel-base & U-pods designed for EBD. I think both Mclaren & Red Bull optimised the EBD. RBR maybe a little more but Mclaren gained MORE because Mercedes engine's hot blowing was far superior to Renault's cold blowing.

Anyways MSC said the rear's feel great. Tyres that is. Weird. I though he liked a more grippier front tyre & not more grip on the rear tyres.

I just hope this year we will see a lot of good fighting in the real way, not in the who-is-less-struggling with the car & tires way.

Maybe the new tyres allow for the same responsiveness, but are far more stable? So you could get the same amount of rotation at the same speed, but not breaking rear traction?

can someone twitter Wiliams that they should reset their live timing table, as they keep the top times set yesterday....

Gatorham quicker than Massa, go go go go (and fire Trulli).

And so far, Webber is not sitting pretty. He went off somewhere, but isn't out of the test.

@ray

I'm of the opinion that a Newey designed RB7 designed with ebd in mind, will have a superior blown diffuser to that of a hastily changed McLaren ebd. Remember how they struggled with the octopus concept?
They reverted to a red bull style and it helped them immensely, but nowhere near as much as it would had they designe their car around the idea. Imagine an MP4-26 withan agressive rake allied to a flexing wing....

We will still see the red bulls fastest I feel. But that is more to the details you see on this car, rather than any single thing in particular.
As testing resumes and we start to see the longer stints, we can see exactly how red bull will fare in 2012 sans ebd.
I pray we see an even 3 or even 4 way fight between RB Ferrari McLaren and possibly Mercedes/Renault.
More could have been done.

Ouch! Pushing too hard?
Early days still, RB8 could yet be beast of thing.

Gravel on the track. And oil, apparently.

That's kind of been the point I've been trying to get across. Fundamentally the Red Bull chassis is still the best.

Good site for timings:

And got a question also. I have noticed that a lot of teams are doing a lot of practice starts, e.g. Schumi has basically been only doing these this morning, so what's the need to do this so early in the testing season? I would have thought practice starts would be a low priority at this time.

But the loss of ebd is for me of greater significance to red bull.
Which is why I'm watching the RB8 like a hawk....
