Here's how I see it: Is the fundamental design of the MP4-27 better, or is the RB8 better? Note that I'm not making any statements as to which is better in this question. But that's just the way that I'm looking at it.

Ouch! Pushing too hard?
Early days still, RB8 could yet be beast of thing.
Gravel on the track. And oil, apparently.
..but at least no trees

It was not Webber but Raikkonen who pushing too hard
Raikkonen gravel news from @StrangAutosport: Raikkonen went off at Turn 6, Dry Sac, where the debris that caused the first red flag was found, He came back at walking pace but scraped the bottom of the Lotus on the kerbing.

Williams Timings are horrible even in LONG RUNS. I know testing times mean sh*t but teams like Williams & Sauber usually for Ultra Low Fuel Runs with Soft Tyres to get a quick team & attract sponsors. Sauber does that every year.

ON a side note, impressive times for Torro Rosso. Last year was a good car & this time they could be improving more. And Webber almost equals Kimi's time

That's good to hear, I was worried he might have pushed to hard...

...though it looks like he's pushing plenty!

I think the best surprise here will be Caterham's overall pace.

I think the STR looks better than the Red Bull proper.
The STR is certainly pretty but it doesn't look as aggressive as the RB. I don't know, I just find the RB to be the most pleasing design and the one that looks quickest to my eyes.

Had ferrari done any long runs yet? Are they struggling with something?

This gives you good info:

They've done a 6-7 lap run.

Any-body has any info on Mercedes. Are they still running with EBD?? I mean its pretty useless then if they are still running EBD today.

The second picture is a car stripped down for air freight.

There's no need to strip the car down for moving by road if you have a purpose built transporter

RB8 "looks" quick according to some track side journos.

McLaren appear to be holding back, not going for times... Just info gathering.

Ferrari appear to be behind these 2 on initial reports. Not enough laps and too intermittent to make qualified comments, but they seem to like flow viz at Ferrari.

STRosso look in fine fettle. Longer runs are sound and the one lap pace is there too. Still early days.

Mercedes: ebd running. Tyre data runs. Not much else to say.

Williams look like they're going to have a rerun of 2011 sadly, their longer runs where all over the shop...
More could have been done.

It will take another testing session to have any idea about the times. Even any reasonable far fetched idea. So no comments on Ferrari or Mclaren's lack of speed.

RBR is looking very good though. It is gaining a lot in the middle sector which is the downforce heavy sector. Webber got plenty of 1-19's & 1-20-21's. All of them could not just be Light runs. Most of his runs had very impressive times.

STR was another team which did Great Consistent runs. Ofcourse I would not rule them out running light all day but it is unlikely that RBR would do the same.

On a side-note Williams are f***ed & I predicted it.

Webber with short qualy style bursts. A 1 minute 19.18 second. That is might quick. And RBR always sand-bag. With more set-up work & a possibly lighter fuel they can possibly go quicker.

Really? They did a ten lap run and all but two of them was in in the mid-to-high 1min22's.
