Testing Time Chatter From Other Threads

Post

Hi to all, this is my first post, I am huge fan of Michael Schumacher, and i am glad to be part of this forum.

Little update of live timing from Barcelona:

09:14 Schumacher drives the Mercedes out of the pits

09:15 The German completes his first lap of the run and goes quickest, with purple in S2 and S3, lap time 1:24.236

09:16 Schumacher is over half a second quicker than Webber now

09:21 Schumacher's time was set on hards, by the way

09:27 Schumacher, meanwhile, is already on the ninth lap of the current run, now lapping in the 1m27s. He's still on the same hard tyres he set the fastest time with

09:33 Schumacher has completed a 12-lap run averaging 1m26.333s

nice start of day :)

Schumacher did a 1:24.236 on hard tyres while yesterday Vettel did a 1:22.891 on the mediums. Schumacher's time was on a 14 lap run whereas Vettel was on a 3-4 lap run (IIRC).

it means whatever you want it to mean as noone knws fuels levels , drs usage , engine settings , wether the driver was early shifting etc.

you dont know how much ballast the cars have either.
no point in reading much into testing times unless its a proper full on race simulation but even those cant really be compared with any level of accuracy.

lets just hope for a day without issues so the car can get atleast 100laps in

If you are looking at more or less compareable runs at the tests, this is on the top of the field..

Ferrari had now the same number of laps (I don´t know if on hard tires too, but there are no worse, so a good start to compare)

He has run the laps starting with 1:26laps up to 1:28 lap times while Schumis laps were from 1:24 to mid 1:27 lap times...

And it´s the timespan RBR run yesterday on their longruns, too... so It looks good what we cann see now...

Hopefully it really is compareable... IDK We´ll see in Melbourne Q3 :-)

still impossible to compare because of Sand Bagging, fuel levels etc.
For all we know MSC could have had fuel for 15 laps, as well as Vettel.
I think only next weeks test will say more. still too many things to test on the Merc. I wonder if they will bring more diffuser solutions to test, or is this it. sorry havent seen anything on that yet in the thread. i know the exhausts will change, but diffuser? maybe, maybe not?
Yeah totally agree but it's still good to see the Mercedes actually doing some laps.
Hopefully the race simulation goes well later today...the more miles the better.

I've not heard anything about the diffuser.

i am not too worried abot times at this stage. all i want to see is plenty plenty of laps by Merc without issues, so they can start dailing in the car for performance etc. But there are still exhausts to try, and hopefully a diffuser or two. (

I think the W03 could be a winner. Doing 1.24.1 with a minimum of 12 laps of fuel onboard on the used Hard tyres with low track temps.

Irvine:"If you don't have a good car you can't win it, unless you are Michael or Senna. Lots of guys won in Adrian Newey's cars, big deal. Adrian is the real genius out there, there is Senna, there is Michael and there is Newey. They were the three great talents."
