Well Paul hasn't shown and I'd like to keep this thread going. (I just read through all 199 pages!) Great stuff and I've picked up quite a few bits I didn't know. Paul please feel free to jump in with a question when you check back!

Anyway, here is mine. The circuit history in F1 has always amazed me and is probably what I know best. The image below is the first corner of what I consider a legendary circuit. Which one?

PS It's not Brooklands

Good guesses, but No and No.

I'll give you 2 hints. Up is not necessarily North and neither guess is on the correct continent.

I was trying to make it difficult. I hope I haven't made it too difficult. #-o All guesses are too recent in history. Remember, I said in my mind it is legendary and I think most would agree. It technically could be run today without many changes (the roads are all still there) but it would be much to dangerous to do so.

Not that I want to ask a question again, but I have been researching for AGES to find the answer to this one and it is:
Pescara Grand Prix, Pescara, Italy. 1957. Its the Via Michelangelo turning right past the "roundabout" which is actually the Corso Vittorio Emanuele II.
For those interested in more details: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pescara_Circuit
Sorry to anyone who actually knew the answer without researching!

Excellent!

I was just about to post another hint, but now I'll post the fact. As far as I can tell it's the only F1 track where Mr. Ferrari won as both a driver and a constructor.

I hope the search wasn't too tedious for you. That was not my intent. I've got another (non track) question lined up that I think should be quite a bit easier.

No it was entertaining, and I learned a lot researching it mainly because the image offered only a few clues!
To complete the story: First race was 1924 and was also Enzo Ferrari's win, and the 1957 F1 GP winner was Sterling Moss in a Vanwall.

I'm happy to pass the questioning back to you, I might learn some more!!

Oh, and I can go to sleep now ;)

Happy you enjoyed your search markc. I usually end up spending hours looking at tracks and their history when I just wanted to look 1 thing up. :D I always start looking at 1 track but that usually leads me to search other races or drivers and then I end up looking at other tracks and the cycle repeats.

Anyway, I am a former Formula 1 World Champion who's life was cut short by an automobile accident. Although the accident was not related to racing, the manufacturer of the vehicle has had a very successful Formula 1 career.

Who am I, what about my F1 career can never be repeated, and what vehicle (make/model) was I driving when I had my accident?

Gah, who needs sleep?! As a quick guess, Farina due to the NEVER being repeated: He was the first WDC, there can be only one first.
As to what car... er no idea, I do recall it was in the 60's that he died en-route to the French GP.

(I can only think of Ford Sierra but that was Frank Williams - non fatal)
