Nick Fry on the chopping blocks soon?
I remember in one of ther pre-race grid lineups, Fry mentioned head will roll if Honda doesn't improve...and he made light that he may be one of them...

Only the media has his head on the chopping board.

Maybe only the media are right then.

Its about time he got the boot. Under his reign Honda has done absolutely nothing but under perform. And he seems to accept this as reasonable, always giving a politician's answer to every media question, making excuses.

He used to be PR director at Stewart GP, I think he's trying too much of the PR and not enough of the Team Management...insted of making excuses for your lack of pace, why not try fixing it?!

Everyone but Ferrari and Renault are underperforming.

The only team that has improved this year is Minardi/STR.

Agree - that's pretty much the feeling you get. At least with guys like Flavio, Dennis, Todt - you know they can't stand not winning. If you make excuses often enough in public it has to have an effect on the way a team runs - even if it only takes a tiny edge off the way people perform, that's enough to move you down the grid in F1 these days.

Nick Fry actually used to be a Prodrive man, and was under the wing of David Richards. I suspect that's how Nick got the position at BAR after David Richards left. You'd think that Nick would know his stuff and be well-versed on his team leading and political duties! Perhaps not...

I'm not his biggest fan, that's for sure. However, I'm all too aware of how easy it is to point the finger at an individual, when it's the fault of many. That's clearly both the pro and con of being a principal figure in a team. You get the praise when things go well, and you get the boot when things don't!

His accent on television is wierd to me, he has a soft voice, I expected a hard mean voice.
Simon: Nils? You can close in now. Nils?
John McClane: [on the guard's phone] Attention! Attention! Nils is dead! I repeat, Nils is dead, ----head. So's his pal, and those four guys from the East German All-Stars, your boys at the bank? They're gonna be a little late.
Simon: [on the phone] John... in the back of the truck you're driving, there's $13 billon dollars worth in gold bullion. I wonder would a deal be out of the question?
John McClane: [on the phone] Yeah, I got a deal for you. Come out from that rock you're hiding under, and I'll drive this truck up your ass.

in the other topic they talked about bringing either Eddie Jordan or Paul Stodart as a potential replacement for Nick Fry. I honestly doubt those 2 characters can work under a big corporate environment. Honestly i think honda will line up a Japanese boss..

Didn't Nick Fry have smth to do with Honda, why he replaced David Richards when they bought a stake in the BAR team?

Fry's a bit , imo, he always seems to make light of everything, never stops smiling.
'Cept for that time in the Brit GP when he was unaware he was on tv, he was just looking at the monitor in the garage with wide eyes and no smile ( 8-[ ) ... good God that was bizarrely scary. Probably the most terrifying thing I've seen on ITV.

That said, Honda are looking good for the races in North America, so who knows?
T'is a bit harsh criticising him given how long it took the team to perform well when Richards was in charge.

Pitpass did have a report dated yesterday (15th) that he had left Merc but the report has since been pulled. Mabye it was all just a rumour and it is the media who are gunning for him?
