Insurance for accident damage?

Post

I was wondering if F1 teams actually insure the cars against accident damage during races and testing?

Do they also insure against a driver being hurt and unable to race?

Who would offer the teams coverage?

Maybe there is a sort of medical/life insurance for the driver. As for the car, I highly doubt there is one all costs are supported by the team.

No insurance company in their right mind would insure a racing car. The premiums would have to be astronomically high and no racing team in their right mind would pay it.
