that seems rather odd really.
From where do you know that your simulation parameters are simulating something useful? with hindsight you will know if it correlated but still it could be just chance..

No. Simulating every possibility would take longer than the age of the universe and consume all energy in it.
This shows a poor understanding of simulation. You don't investigate every possibility, you recursively investigate the ones that show promise.

working in the automotive industry ,Simulation seems to forge is´s way into almost everything and sometimes you just scratch your head thinking:whatthe f..k are they trying to achieve...
All the sims I have seen in the last 12 months had no real result you could not predict by simply looking at the situation and applying a bit common sense.Putting it in colorful pictures did not reveal anything new and to have it printed does not prove anything.
Havving the big teams bemoaning the presence of actual testing time available and stating :they did not learn anything new is just rediculous.
It´s only and entirely their fault if it has worked out like that. If I have good tools and knowledge I would not need to test the same things again ,sure. But why not test things I cannot simulate or predict as I have no means of simulation tools in place to predict the behaviour? Without a proper plan and strategy every test on track is more or laess a waste of time and only giving drivers seat time ..wich is a godd thing usually.
