Yes, but Monaco is a lot slower in the corners. Hungaroring while not being much faster has much more "flow" from corner to corner. The corners in Monaco are generally so slow that aero grip doesn't help much in terms of carrying speed through - which isn't the case here. Monaco, traction is crucial all through the lap. Here, it's important too, but not as important as in Monaco. Only the two last corners and the 2 first corners are traction heavy, and T1 and T2 are downhill anyways which helps traction

Yes they are not identical. But the similarities are there.

But as far as it relates to Mercedes, they can be more optimistic here. Temps will hinder them mind, so I'm not expecting pole....P4-5 is something they'll be looking at in quali and P5-6 in the race.

Yeah. Hungaroring is a tight and twisty circuit - aero efficiency is key.

His sector times (in the wet) were actually quite good, before he binned it. The chance of rain on Sunday is quite high.

The Hungaroring is quite an underrated track in my eyes.

It's very much a throwback circuit to the days of places like Jarama or Zolder.

The flow of the track is quite good, and the need for traction through a lot of the corners creates interesting ways to approach the race. Not to mention, there still exists a penalty for going off the circuit unlike the rubbish we see at Hockenheim, and other circuits.

If this is their real speed ,good night Germany -they are falling back at an alarming speed ...and that´s the final nail in their coffin ...Schumacher not signing and zetsche deciding he is not spending the money any more.

I do think they are on a high fuel qualy run cuz if i'm not mistaken they have been continuously running for 18 minutes without pitting on the soft

if ..they are on a highish level it´s not that high ..they are down a bit more than one second ....and not 5 .Idon´t really see the sense of doing a qualy attempt on not qualy level fuel .
And i don´t see the sense of getting rid of downforce generating appendages but still not featuring as the quickest through the speed traps...with the strong Mercedes engine....what´s going on there?

The team is lost if this is the true pace of them. I have no idea how it's gonna pan out in qualifying for them. They haven't brought a single upgrade since Monaco. Even if Hungary is the same as Monaco, it's not that all other teams have also stopped development. Mercedes haven't really kept up with the middle teams let alone the top teams.
