While on paper the grid sets Grosjean up for a possible victory, let's remember this is Hungaroring, with the worst dirty side on the calendar. In 2003 (I think it was 2003) the order into turn 1 started in P1, P3, P5, P7...

Even if it's a wet or damp start, the crowning of the road means that the "odd numbered side" has drier grid slots.

Unless of course it rains, then dries out just in time for the start, before dust has time to settle on the tarmac

Barring bad starts, Hamilton has been overtaken on track 3 times this season.

Romain Grosjean in Bahrain. Hot track temps.

Romain Grosjean in Valencia. Hot track temps.

Raikkonen in Valencia. Hot track temps.

Hot track temps in Hungary. Grosjean right behind him.......

.
Let's also not forget that at Valencia he lost over 14seconds due to a bad pit stop, ended up out of position and had to fight his way back up the field which ruined his tyres in the end. It's important to look at the contributory factors in all those races rather than just track temperatures.

Is it me on is Vettel starting on the Harder Tyres  ?
Just before they put those covers , the tyres seemed to have a White Area not a Yellow One : OO

Sounds like a toss up – do you try to go long on your first set of tyres hoping to have one fewer stop than everyone else, or do you try and blitz the first half and build a big lead.

I think the most probable tyre strategy for the race will be OPP if its dry for the whole race .

McLaren and Ferrari both seem to think it's going to be dry.

Edit: And Lotus.
