That is definitely not the place where you can react quickly to race incidents or come up with a brilliant strategy call. He was then basically just watching the race like we did.

It was up to the guys at the pit wall to coordinate the crew and tell Michael what to do. I think Brawn is slowly trying to extract himself from the running of the team.

Personally, I still think Brawn's presence is a source of stability for the team. Iets hope Bell, Willis, and Costa can at least turn things around so they will not embarrass themselves further by finishing the season lower than Force India or Sauber. Mercedes simply does not have the resources like Ferrari to turn things around in such short time.

Most every other team principal is on the pit wall at the start of the race, but Ross is just sitting back on a folding chair in the garage. I don't get it at all. I do believe between him and Norby conned Daimler into buying Brawn GP. Button in spite of becoming WDC ran to McLaren. Button likely knew something was up with the team and didn't bother sticking around. The behavior that the team has exhibited so far this season is apathetic at best.

I do think you're right on Brawn trying to extract himself from running this team since everything that goes on with this team seems to reek of a rudderless ship adrift at sea.

It's frankly appalling that a F1 team is being run the way MGP has been over the past few years.

I actually think that this would be the best course of action.

The current situation with them residing in Brackley makes me think of the saying, "when the cat is away, the mice will play".

I don't imagine it would be easy to run a F1 team by any stretch of the imagination, and certainly being in proximity to the corporate people can always be a dangerous thing. You certainly want to encourage creativity and productivity. Micromanaging a F1 team is a sure way of sending things to the bottom in my opinion. But, at the same time, being off in England isn't really befitting of what is supposed to be a German F1 team. I think it would do wonders if everything was relocated to Stuttgart. The problem is, such a move would entail a large financial commitment for the move itself, as well as the future. At this point with what we have seen, I can't imagine the Daimler board would be overly enthusiastic about such an endeavor.

but then they will probably have to build factory from scratch incl. windtunnel... unless they use windtunnel of manufacturing section...

they must have their own windtunnel for commercial vehicle designing and testing dont they ,,, im sure they do... though i have no idea whether those windtunnel meets specification to that of f1.... i am just a general fan of f1. not expert

long break... ross and his technical team will probably do nothing much and just revise on how to work on setup and tires. ross has been bragging about it all the time instead of development....

The only way those tires are going to last is if they figure out how to develop the car better.

Someone could probably correct me on this if I am wrong, but I think the Merc has balance issues in addition to the downforce issues.

It's not surprising that you don't get it. You actually tried to claim that Ross Brawn was simply a passenger at Benetton and Ferrari !

Wouldn't it be easy for Merc to break the RRA? Split resources with Merc F1 and their other divisions .
