Dear Cocles:Cocles wrote:/facepalm The merc engines are widely considered the most powerful on the grid. You're American... You have Steve Matchett mentioning this every race weekend, and you're sighting an article that discusses how the Merc engine's power is chewing up the tires as contradicting me?SeijaKessen wrote:Now wouldn't this fly in the face of the claim made by one poster that Merc engines are the absolute best out there?
Wtf are you talking about?
A poster --I don't recall their name-- stated that Ilmor---drat, I mean Merc engines are by far the best engines out there period.
I simply informed the gentleman that were that in fact true, Ferrari and Renault engines would have not racked up more Constructor's championships than Merc over the last 17 years. That's not combined (Renault & Ferrari) it is separate.
I said also...
Maximum power output does not necessarily equate to "best" due to other variables based upon my rather limited knowledge.Wouldn't it also remove all doubt that Ron the Con uses Merc engines out of the goodness of his heart and/or just wants to win?
Why if Ron the Con wanted to win, he would be on the phone with Renault Sport asking about engines.
I could be wrong though.
I prefer to watch the Sky broadcasts as opposed to the Speed broadcasts. That whole commercial thing is rather annoying...plus I think Brundle is way better.
