Unfortunately it's not that easy that the car is not good enough in acceleration and/or breaking. Just have a look at their two best results, China and Monaco. Both track have slow corners where massive accelerations are crucial.yener wrote:Could be, but I think the problem is more on acceleration getting out of the corner. But the car is not bad. They just need to find more consistancy so they can end 9 and 10th every race.
I think they need a lot of factors to come together and they are still competitive with this car. They need to minimize the sensitivity to these factors and they will be much more consistent. At the last few races there were just too much factors that didn't give them an easy time, that's why it was looks like they falling down the field. Probably Hungary was the worst case with those 180° corners and short straights.
Looks like they need the combinations of some of these circumstances to make better results:
- track characteristics that contains mostly slow to medium speed corners where they don't have to spend too much time (e.g. where the car can't tend to understeer)
- Have consistent temperatures during the weekend as much as possible (preferably with lower track temperatures)
- At least two long straights where they can reap the fruit of their DDRS and can make better car setups.
The biggest problem is that it's easier to make a list (a much shorter list) of circumstances where they are excel, than the opposite. But that's why I disagree with lot of you guys here in the forum. At least this year we can make some lists. Try to compare it to the first two years when the team was absolutely hopeless of making the podium.
So all in all this team is going forward and will slowly minimize the car's weak points to give us some good results at the second half of the season.
