According to all the weather forecasts I have seen no rain is expected for Saturday and Monday. Oh my Goddess, even doing this they are terrible.marcush. wrote:I´d guess the new development relates to a Brackley inspired rain dance? I heard the very best raindancers lived nearby in Bicester ...
I think to be fair their hands are tied. The board back at Mercedes HQ has tightened the purse strings whilst they assess the brands involvement in Formula 1 going forward since Bernie denied them a seat on the board come flotation.Vasconia wrote:This team is truly awful. They introduced some good ideas in this car but they didn’t solve the main problem, the use of the tyres. Because of this, they haven’t introduced any important development in the rear part of the car, they could try to introduce a new exhaust and rear suspension in order to solve this problem, gain down force and improve the balance of the car. But what they have done is only remove the front cascades, losing front down force and making the car slower.
Is this the definition of “hard work” for this team? This is annoying.
I trust you have something to back this up? I've not hear of anything out this. Lots or rumours about a pullout, but nothing of reducing funding.Coefficient wrote:I think to be fair their hands are tied. It's pretty common knowledge now that the board were so incensed by Bernie that they nearly pulled the plug completely.NewtonMeter wrote:I trust you have something to back this up? That’s true, according to some in formations Mercedes(as a label) is going to leave F1, AMG will take the main role in the team(obviously changing the name) and the German car manufacturer will only supply the engines.Coefficient wrote:It's pretty common knowledge now that the board were so incensed by Bernie that they nearly pulled the plug completely.NewtonMeter wrote:I trust you have something to back this up? It's also common knowledge that they are considering offloading the F1 team to AMG and want it to operate as in independant commercial entity in order to save money.
Also, the fact that all the team have done with the car is bring it to races then take it home to wash it makes it patently obvious that they haven't had the money to spend on developing the car.
Its all over the net, get yourself on google and knock yourself out.
Theoretically, these guys know the rules…zyphro wrote:Would you believe it eh, the FIA was wrong about the drive-through:

Aye, ah well - however, he wouldn't have had to waste further time catching cars such as the Virgins, HTR's etcVasconia wrote:Theoretically, these guys know the rules…zyphro wrote:Would you believe it eh, the FIA was wrong about the drive-through:

Anyway, the race was ruined with the previous mistake so its not that bad, imagine if this happen in SPA or in any race where Michael can get a good result.
Actually, no. It was reported by one website, which every other website then repeated while linking back to that original website. The rumor was then repeated on here, and as usual, after a couple posts people began referring to it as fact. Since then, one or two other websites have reported their own similar rumors. I'm not saying the rumors aren't true, only that they are still just that... Rumors. And they'll remain as such until we actually hear something from Brackley or Stuttgard.Coefficient wrote:It's pretty common knowledge now that the board were so incensed by Bernie that they nearly pulled the plug completely.

I would say that Ross was quite courageous when he introduced the double DRS. And back in 2009 (or should I say 2008, when the car was developed) when he introduced the double diffuser.Gerhardsa wrote:I'd rather think it was Flav in the Benneton days, and then Jean Todt and Rory Bearne in the Ferrari days that were more courageous in terms of new developments and parts.
Ross seems to be very conservative which is so annoying.
But thats just my opinion...
Flav? He couldn't make a nail nevermind F1 development parts.Gerhardsa wrote:I'd rather think it was Flav in the Benneton days, and then Jean Todt and Rory Bearne in the Ferrari days that were more courageous in terms of new developments and parts.

The 'common knowledge' looks more like speculation and unconfirmed rumours. As it happens, it all does not mean they are spending less, now. It means someone thinks they are pulling out. Honda even kept on spending even after they pulled out by funding Brawn. See the difference? At this stage no one, apart from a select few, knows anything more than that; and everything else is speculation.Coefficient wrote: It's pretty common knowledge now that the board were so incensed by Bernie that they nearly pulled the plug completely.
