Step noses and DDRS are banned. This means a rethink.
Stepped noses aren't banned, they will still be there. They will simply have a cover over them to hide their ugliness. :))

Fortunately, they're already accounting for the loss of DDRS via the development of the Lotus styled L-Duct.

I sincerely hope that Hamilton knows what he has done here. This move can not be compared to schumacher move to ferrari (1996). Teams are much more close now and importantly testing is banned (except YDT). Ham would be mad to not have a performance clause in his 3 yr contract.
If the team fails to show improvement in next couple of seasons (which i doubt) he should go to Redbull in 2014 (vettel to Ferrari, as being predicted by many).
As for MSC its embarrassing as a fan to see all this happening. But it might have been planned before. Only MSC knows the truth. Would surely not like seeing him in a sauber next season, maybe ferrari or lotus if he wants to continue.
If he has decided to retire than lets enjoy the remaining races as Brazilian gp may be the last time we witness this great champ  Hope he drives they way he did in brazil 2006 for the rest of the season and achieve what he came for. A WIN!!!!!!!!!!

so now Hamilton has the chance to create a winning racing car, according to Brawn...So Hamilton is the 6th King or is HE the messiaH?
Anyways the WHOISWHO of Motorsports is assembled in MGP now ....how can this go wrong? Maybe a few aquisitions would help the cause ..(RBRbuyout,MCLarenbuyout,Ferrari buyout,Lotus buyout,Sauber buyout ,Force INDIA buyout ..have I forgot something ?)
The it´s only money approach has always led to multiple championship wins ,did it? As far as I rmemeber it worked only at Ferrari with Byrne the genius to deliver a car that was providing the base needed .

I´d say Haugs plan how to save money doing Formula 1 has panned out beautifully.....Hamilton and Lauda will easily bridge the gap of the reported 250mill€ per year and the 280mill€ Mclaren is spending...and if I rmemeber correctly Mercedes never founded the whole MCL campaign... =D>

The cover is optional, to my understanding.

Yes, the cover is optional. But most teams are likely to opt for it to minimize any airflow disruptions because of the step. I am not sure if Red Bull will modify their letterbox though.

Are you figures Actual spend? Or are they total spend?
And where did you source it from?

Revenues generated by Mercedes AMG participation and sponsor factored into your figure? I really don't think so.

He's there to ease up on Haug's expanding waist line. If Haug can't fit through the Press box door, they send in the Rat.
His honest to goodness nickname(Lauda).

you make me laugh .

a budget is a budget and if you come up with new recruits every other week -with that sort of salaries- I´d be interested how YOU would possibly pry more money from sponsors or controlling .It´s very easy: you don´t have it planned, you don´t get the money .As it is not in the forecast..so someone has to open the pocketor at least sign it off .tha´t can only be zetsche and the board-at the same time when they start a programme to save multiple million €s...so it may well be Ecclestone has opened his purse ....but then ..very unconvenient for DAI ..compliance is a big word there...I think Mr.E. is draggingthem into the mud with ease there ....clever work .

the budget figures are estimated of course .I´m not their accountant. But these days budget figures of 300mill€ for Ferrari andMclaren are circulating and Sauber at around 70mill€ .
Sauber without even a TD and MGP with Haug,Brawn,Bell,Willis,Costa,Lauda,Fry and who else...in MEGAmilliondeals Idon´t think they could posssibly spend much less than RedBull who of course have Newey who might bag 7 mill€ alone..

The thing that should be number one priority for Mercedes is solving the tire wear/deg issues.

Pirelli´s in general is like kryptonite for Hamilton who is known for using more of the tire then most.
He will be in worse condition then Rosberg and Schumacher was this and last year because of his driving style.

If they can produce a car with similar care to tires as Sauber and still make it somewhat quick then we will see the best of Hamilton in the races.

So he will basically change his red cap to a silver one and stop bashing the team when he is standing in front of RTL’s cameras. For that he will get a couple Million into his pocket.
I always knew that Lauda is a smart guy.
Ah btw. I have heard the rumour that Mercedes also bought xpensive to stop him from bashing the team.
Does not matter as Schumacher is gone now I will kick them harder until my pockets are filled as well.
