Hows this for a bit of inconsistency in Brawn's rambling. First the deal with Hamilton just came along.... now its been since "earlier in the year" and started with a casual sort of way... LOL absolute back stabber!!

http://www.firstpost.com/sports/schumac ... 73147.html

Huge pressure

Brawn said the situation with Hamilton had evolved over several months after starting early in the year “in a relaxed way” with Schumacher informed at every stage.

The former Ferrari technical director, and title-winning Brawn GP principal, said Hamilton’s arrival would put his team even more in the spotlight but was sure they would rise to the challenge.

“There’s always huge pressure on us to perform and of course having a driver of Lewis’ calibre in the team may intensify that pressure,” he said.

“I think this is a team that has great potential, great facilities, great people.

“It’s coming together now and I think Lewis will be able to both contribute to the end result as a driver but also contribute in giving the motivation and giving the input to the team, they’re the things we need to do to produce a great car.

“So I believe we are going to produce great cars in the future.”

Brawn said the belief that Mercedes could succeed was probably the most important factor in convincing Hamilton to make the change from a team that has nurtured him from his early teenage years.

“We want him to contribute much more than just driving a car, we want him to be a very integrated member of a team, we want him to contribute with the engineers, we want him to motivate the people, we want him to really become an intrinsic part of the team and I think that’s what appealed to Lewis,” he added.

Ferrari won five titles in a row with Schumacher in the early years of the century and Brawn won the drivers’ and constructors’ crowns in 2009. The team boss did not rule out replicating such success.

“I believe that we can go forward and with Lewis and Nico Rosberg we can enjoy the sort of success that Ferrari had in the 2000s,” he said.

Good luck to all at Mercedes. Team principal speaks with forked tongue

Did you just extract what you wanted from this story, twist and contort every word to come up with the post?
Nothing personal but it is quite clear what is being said here, and it actually states very clearly what has happened.
Now I dont mean this badly, but is English your first language? I understand there are many European users who use this site with English as a second, third or even fourth language.

You wrote this in exclamation. Yet not 2 sentences later you quote this.
Brawn said the situation with Hamilton had evolved over several months after starting early in the year “in a relaxed way” with Schumacher informed at every stage.
If Schumacher is informed at every stage, as the story has written, then what sort of back stabbing is this?

You also failed to quote another pivotal piece of the story to fit in nicely with your agenda.
“Michael’s been undecided for some time now in what to do. As Michael has been contemplating what he was going to do, then the opportunity to have Lewis join the team gradually increased, gradually grew to the point where we had to come to a conclusion."
So it is true then. Michael dithered for too long and the team made an executive decision.

I'm sure that is hear felt, given your previous statements.

Not if you are using this news piece to back up your quite extraordinary outburst.

it will never happen because mercedes cant build a fast car
By back markers you mean Button and the likes? He was up to second with Vettel behind him who actually started second.

then the regular Mclaren moronic "Save fuel" had to let both Vettel and Webber past.

still trolling and nothing about team.......

ON: If Brawn deliver a good car (and i'm pretty sure) Nico can fight for Championship! i'm not sure about Hamilton because form him will be first year with team.

I have a curiosity. If Michael will sign with Ferrari and at the end of this season Hamilton and Alonso fight for Champ and at the last race Fernando is on P2 but need win for Champ and Michael is first what he gonna do?

honestly i think Michael will retire.

EDIT: These comparisons are useless...... both are amazing

Schumacher wavered. Big mistake.

"Frank Costello controlled the Luciano crime family. Vito would find work as a contract killer for Mussolini, eventually receiving "Italy's highest civilian medal." At war's end, however, local authorities exposed a list of Genovese's many crimes and discovered his status as a fugitive. He was sent back to the United States to stand trial. Key prosecution witnesses were murdered in the lead-up and total fear ensured an acquittal. Genovese was a free man and ready to assume his old position - but Frank Costello had no desire to relinquish the mantle. The subsequent power struggle culminated in Genovese, over the course of several years, coercing the majority to abandon Costello's leadership. When approached to join the Genovese side, Little Augie wavered. Big mistake. ..." #-o

Schumacher was undecided about F1. If he wanted to drive, he knew what to do: shop around for a new team. If he has regrets, he can only blame himself.

where is the mistake?
He simply has lost faith after that last upgrade ,simple as that.

Then look around what Lauda is telling the media : he lured Hamilton into MGP for EGO reasons-see if schumacher cannot make MGP champions and you will suceed then it will build your reputation..
That makes perfect sense IF its going to happen....but if not it will be just 2 or three years down the drain....he might find a good home elsewhere if he is still as sharp as he was but not everyone is like Schumacher....

Yet it has won a race and scored pole??
And so you touch this limit, something happens and you suddenly can go a little bit further. With your mind power, your determination, your instinct, and the experience as well, you can fly very high.

Yes but Pastor when he has a correctly set up car and when he isn't crashing has good pace and williams have a better car than mercedes Senna is average it sounds harsh but he doesnt have the pace Maldanado has

Senna and Malfucntionado have different approaches to quali and the race.
The former is slower in Quali to have a better race set up.
the latter probably doesn't plan to get past the first corner anyway so have a good race set up does not really work for him.
In the Races Senna has been on pae but hampered by poor qualifying.
I think Williams use this approach to get more TV time. Keeps their sponsors happy and while they're trying to earn points and rebuild the team to something of its former glory thisis what they have to do. I feel has been unfairly disadvantaged. bythis. He was pretty in F2.

This is not a thread I follow. It seems to me that Mercedes are making really good moves. They brought in some top quality design people. They have upgraded their windtunnel from 50% to 60%. They have now got a top driver. They are attending to their fundamental weaknesses & not doing desperate stabs in the dark. I have watched their travails with interest and look forward to what transpires next year. I expect considerable improvement.

THey're attracted some outcasts from other teams for sure. Geoff Willis has been bouncing around a bit. Was with Williams when Newey was there, Once NEwey left he didn;t really fill the shoes.

Then it was BAR/Honda. Not great success there either, but a lot of up and down performances.

Then decided Red Bull as where he wanted to be. After that he decided, weirdly, to join Hispania.

Now he's been at Mercedes for more than a year...still no real progress.

Also Costa, heck of a nice guy but was really moved sideways at Ferrari. Excellent designer but is he a good concept guy? Hmmmm, maybe, maybe not. Ferrari seem to be doing ok without him.

Bob Bell, given credit for much of Renault's success but this was also during a period of Michelin tyre domination. LOtus don;t seem to be too affected by his move to Mercedes either.

I get the feeling that the people at Mercedes seemed to have built their reputation on being at the right place at the right time without actually consistenly delivering a high performing product.

I exclude Schumacher and Byrne from this because the former is adriver and he gives 100% no matter what he is driving nd also seems to have coped with more rule changes than any other F1 driver in History. Rory Byrne was producing successful F1 cars since the late 80's (Benetton B188 onward) and has proven record of delivering a race winning car. He and ADrian NEwey have dominated F1 over the last 20yrs. Neil Oatley should also get a mention here as long time McLaren engineer.

I just don't see the magic bullet in the guns of any of the Three Kings

Raptor, I take your point about people getting reflected glory from their workmates. My suspicion about Gascoyne.
