So if you are slow through the traps it s simply a function of drag and gearing.
But to come back to MGPs kings: I don´t understand why Bell and Willis and Costa should not be held accountable for this years car.
Bell was present in its gestation from day one adding to that he experienced the woes W02 had al year .Willis was in the company already to look up the development over the winter as was Costa..So a realistic input from these two would have materialised at the beginning of the euro season.....-the decline of W03s performance...
This year, 2011 , 2010 and 2009 are almost the same basic concept, IMO. They are very similar if you cover the noses. It is a good chance the the Mercedes money was not pumped straight into the car, but surrounding expenses like infrastructure and personnel. There were even times when the cars are described as having poor craftsmanship and poor development rate. I have a hunch that we will only see the true efforts of Costa, Bell and Willis next year.

It may not even be next year NSmikle.

Perhaps they are gearing for 2014 and beyond.

so the original three year plan was a lie all along? what after 2014 ? maybe they are playing the longer game and 2020 will be the year?

Pretty much. Given the engine reboot for 2014, they're bound to have another multi-year plan to gradually build themselves up to serious championship-contending levels... So yeah.

That seem very very weird to me. MSC is no escape goat for Mercedes. Either Michael is being too kind to them or something very wrong is going on with this teams.

I doubt it. I think the team really did expect to be in the hunt this year and next year. Now, that they are so far back, they are clinging to the 2014 regulation change expecting to have the best engine of all.

The team expected to win races and fight for podiums this year. The W03 did so early on, but then has taken quite a plunge. A lot of positives to be taken this year. Michael's first podium and pole with Mercedes. Nico's first win and the first win for the team since the Mercedes purchase.

I would like to come back to the part of hiring people and when to expect them to make an impact.I believe in immediate impacts and I certainly have never seen anything else in my professional life. The brilliant guys pop in and instantly find their feet and get on with the job.The three kings and Elliot Ness certainly are professionals and have a clear understanding of their job and if they have something to contribute it will show instantly.
No ,I´m not expecting a 100% efficiency or change of it all ,but certainly a guy of Bells or Willis or Costas calibre must have something in his armoury to help the team or in certain areas of the operation with immediate positive effects-especially when the team is struggling to make progress.

Yes it is, it is referring to a Interview he gave "Die Welt" Newspaper.

Here you have the most important parts, I'll translate them (hopefully more accurate :D):
Michael Schumacher wrote:2009 the foundation was good, the team just won the Title, the name Mercedes and me, it looked good.
We thought: if we put one and one together we could be competitive, now we know that wasn't the case.

Actually I wanted to drive for only 2 years, I thought this would be enough to get the Title, but the Team asked me for 3 years.

We as race drivers are dependent on the team, if it doesn't work work, then it is my fault as it is the teams fault.
[The other article skipped that last part intentionally...]

I have to look in the mirror and I have to say that I gave everything I could, and I can certainly say that.

Thanks ganxxta,

A sad ending for Schumacher, but at least it's a graceful exit. The mark of a true champion.
Let's all hope he can shine in the last few races.

certainly Schumacher is very fair in his views and remembering all that led to his comeback it is now quite logical he now stops ..simply because the team has proved to be unable yet to supply the goods and will most certainly not in 2013 either.
so for the big goal time for Schumacher simply was running out .

So Brawn the Hutt and right everyone involved drew up a picture just too colourful -enthusiastic- completely overestimating the strength in depth within MGP and not realising 2009 was a fluke based on a waiver , an allowance for Brawn for the good ol times in the big plan to nail Daimler into Formula 1 for the near future.Losing them might have reulted in Renault also quitting saving Cosworth but sending formula 1 back into stone age of sorts..

OK!, thats another thing, I am happy to read this because his last comments shocked me a little bit, I didtnt understand why Michael has blamed only himself for the poor results with Mercedes.

On the other Lauda has said that Mercedes is building a completely new car for 2013, oh my god, once again the same thing... #-o
