Fuel level measurement

RB/Renault states that a low fuel level in the collector tank was the reason they stopped Vettel's car at the end of Abu Dhabi qualifying. They did not want to run the fuel pump dry. How would they measure the actual fuel level?

All sensors use advanced capacitive technology to sense the fluid level, with no moving parts and lightweight integral electronics.
The sensors are offered with totally configurable outputs and onboard multiple fluid calibration functions.
