compression

All that has to do with the power train, gearbox, clutch, fuels and lubricants, etc. Generally the mechanical side of Formula One.

compression

Post

Does anyone roughly know the compression of an f1 cylinder compared to normal road car?

Would F1 V10 engine have more compression then V8 or opposite?
The trouble with the rat-race is that even if you win, you're still a rat.

I've seen it mentioned being around 16:1

Not sure about the V10/8, but generally the higher you rev, you higher your compression can be. I'll guess for V8 having higher compression, but it's just a guess about F1. :?
