Time lapse of every nuclear explosion around the world.

Post

Pretty crazy stuff :)

I mean seriously, do we really need to blow atomic bombs that many times to understand what happens?
Seems like 2-3 times would be enough, put it in a PDF and send it to the rest of the nations ;)

And they wonder why there's global warming.
Education is that which allows a nation free, independent, reputable life, and function as a high society; or it condemns it to captivity and poverty.

Do you seriously hink those two things are related? Wake up man. Nuclear energy is bad, but has nothing to do with global warming. But like fossil fuel use nuclear fuel is not sustainable. It is a limited resource with devastating impact on the environment but in other ways that fossil fuel has. Both things got to be replaced by renewable energy ASAP for an energy economy that is sustainable, healthy and democratic. Nuclear and fossil only benefits the big energy olygopolists. Renewable energy is owned and operated by regional and local capital and people.

Absolutely correct WB and the best post you have ever put up.
Renewable energy is the ONLY future.

It is the WAR that has to be fought and soon.
It has nothing to do with global warming or increased CO2 either.

about 2 billion people are now living on food grown with non-renewable water, more every day
(irrigation from underground aquifers at rates vastly greater than the replenishment rates)
this is bigger and more urgent problem than those that are so persistently publicised

Tommy, if you could make large enough amounts of really renewable energy at a decent cost, all water would then be renewable, made from sea water or a similar source by using the renewable energy.

If you think of it, were we to have really massive amounts of renewable energy for use, the way we do almost everything would change. I am not saying that it is easy to harvest, but the sun is hitting the surface of the earth with hundreds of times the global energy consumption, constantly. So whether we "make large enough amounts of really renewable energy" is an economic problem, not a resource one.

let's try again ....
we know today that we have fossil fuels for another 1000 years ......
(so-called 'known oil reserves' are those viable at current prices, not the much greater amount that actually exists)
shale gas (that apparently did not exist a few years ago)
tar (as in tar sands, about 10x present known oil)
methane clathrates (ditto)

so there's more pressing problems than energy

if all the taxpayer's money in the world was thrown at so-called renewables it would make little difference
invention to order has a dismal record (eg nuclear fusion)
we can't even make a proper battery

Source please. If it´s an estimation made by scientists then i think that little detail should be included.
